Sheltered

My life's been well sheltered,

But other shelters I've observed.

I'll tell you about them,

Try not to be perturbed.

One girl was bitten.

Her dog was mean.

She lived with more pets and their dirt

Than I'd ever seen.

One man's shelter is broken,

It's useless in rain.

It's about to fall in.

All the leaks are a pain.

One house was a maze,

Small lanes through the clobber.

The hoarding was so bad,

You'd wish for a robber.

When you think about this,

If you're about to complain

 About being too sheltered,

Remember their pain.

If your parents are strict

And you have a curfew,

Just be glad you're not wet,

Always sneezing- Achoo!

Be grateful they care,

And you aren't neglected.

Let their love embrace you.

Be glad you're protected.
