Freedom means different things to different people. My perspective on the meaning of freedom has changed over the past few years. For me, freedom means being an independent adult. Talia Romano finally turns 18, like ever adult she just wants a vacat...
Talia got some water and sat back beside him. “ I thought you left,” said Luca. “ No, I went to get you some water, trust me you will need it” Talia explained.
Luca looked very puzzled and was nervous. “I came here for a reason and I am not suppose to tell anyone where I went or who I am” No it can’t be her, oh no!
“ My name is Talia the daughter of Alessandro Romano” Talia noticed he was sweating, “told you, you will need some water” said Talia. Luca grabbed the water and gulped it down. She sensed something wasn’t right.
She got up to grab some towels. “What’s the matter?” Talia said while handing him the towels. “Nothing I just realized I have been so rude to a princess” said Luca, but deep down he know that wasn’t true.
“ Oh no don’t feel that way, you are hurt and I like helping others.” Talia said. “ Luca touched her face and moved her hair , “ You’re even more beautiful than what people have described” said Luca.
Talia started to feel a little hot, Luca handed her a towel and laughed “ I think you need this more than I do”. No one has ever called Talia beautiful, besides her parents and staff.
Three weeks passed and Luca grew strong again, he no longer needed Talia. Luca thought about telling Talia the truth, but he didn’t want to ruin the friendship they had. Since Luca had a cold father, he never made any friends.
After taking a long shower, Luca decided it was time the princess knew the truth, even if it meant losing their friendship. Luca laid in bed and thought about how to tell her, it was much harder than he thought.
Luca practiced what to say:
"Talia I need to tell you something, I don’t know if you can forgive me after I tell you the truth. You saved my life, you took good care of me, and you helped me become a better person".
“Yes, I must tell her the tru-“. Talia was looking at Luca confused, “ You must tell me the truth about what?” asked Talia. Luca's eyes widened with shock, realizing he said that out loud. he stared at her and didn’t know how to start, even after all the practice.
“Talia I am so sorry” said Luca with worry in eyes. Talia was even more confused she didn’t understand why he was apologizing. “ You must first promise to listen to everything I say first and then you may walk away if you please” said Luca.
Talia was now getting frightened she didn’t know what to do so she agreed, she sat beside him. Luca said “Talia thank you so much for helping me and for being a great friend”. Talia was relived she for some reason thought he was going to say something else.
“Oh don’t mention it, you probably would of done the same for me” said Talia . Luca knew that wasn’t true and if he wasn’t injured and had knew she was the princess, they would have never been friends.
“Talia I really need to tell you something, remember the evening you found me hurt, what had actually happened was”, (Luca paused and looked at Talia) “My father sent me to kidnapped you and shoot you with a tranquilizer gun.” Explained Luca.
Talia was in tears, she was so mad she stood up and yelled at him “ How dare you lie to me twice and you expect me to sit and listen to your story, oh no you expect me to believe anything you say.” Talia said in anger. Talia headed for the door but, Luca grabbed her arm and told her she promised to wait until he finished.
“Are you serious? You are out of your mind if you think I will sit and listen to you? No this can’t be true!” Talia was now pacing around the room.
“Who are you?” asked Talia. “I am Luca son of Oscuritá” said Luca. “Oscuritá?” said Talia in a shaky voice, “How could you not tell me your father is Oscur!” said Talia. “Does he know where we are?” asked Talia. “No he doesn’t, but he knows where your family is, they are in danger.
The plan was to keep you hostage for two weeks, but it is now the third. We must go now” said Luca. “I will go alone” said Talia. She headed out and reached for her horse, Luca grabbed her arm and told her he must go with her, she must not go alone. .
