Today I was overwhelmed with almost everything. Start with this morning, I need to finish my history homework and spend two hours of torture. Yeah, I spend two hours doing my math homework with Noah and his lunatic horror way to teach people.

I do understand the subject he taught me, but his constant nag and his impatience make me want to rip my head off my body. Hazel’s arrival is the one who saved me. I immediately lounged myself to her the moment I opened the door and hear her cheery voices.

Hazel being Hazel, she absolutely takes my side. Leaving a very unhappy Noah at the living room while we girls go upstairs to my room and gossiping. What? We’re girls and that’s normal. Hazel is the best of girl that I can ask to be Noah’s girlfriend.

She is funny, blunt and fearless. She completely easy going too, shortly she gets along really well with Noah’s personality. She is one of people who didn’t treat me differently because one of her uncle is blind too. Yeah, I love her to the bits.

This afternoon she helped me to choose my outfit. Thanked god she succeeded to persuade my mom to let me wear my jeans, she tells me to wear a long sleeve chiffon shirt that I had. Simple, but still good somehow, well according to Hazel of course.

After changed, Hazel brings me down. I need to help my dad making mash potato for dinner, when I went to the kitchen he already there busily making his famous sweet and sour chicken. Don’t underestimate me, Maybe I’m blind but my cooking skill still good as ever.

At first, it’s hard to cook with my condition, but with my father’s help I manage to cook for myself again. On weekdays, mom will be the one who cooks for us but on weekend, it’s up to my dad and I. Mom is and have her own cook book while dad, he just love it because he live alone during his college years.

Just when the mash potato is done, the bell ringing and my mother quickly hushed to the door.

“So, how many people coming, Dad?” I asked casually.

“Four people, Princess.” He replied. “And George’s youngest son is four, so I guess, be prepared.” He chuckled.

I smile at him and nodded. My first of year after the accident, I can’t handle to be in the same room with kids. Why? Because kids being kids, they will asked question about why I’m blind? How the accident? Well, they’re kids; they always curious and I don’t blame them for their frankness.

And sometimes they go run all the way run and I will accidently bump into them because I can’t see, and their loud voices, honestly make me dizzy. I can hear my mom shouting at Noah, what the hell is he doing? Give the guess a freakin’ headlock?

I palpate the kitchen table to find a bowl for the mash potato, my dad gives me the bowl first and I muttered ‘thank you’ to him. I can hear footsteps from behind along with a little boy voices.

“Dad, what is he doing to Jack?” I heard the boy mumbled.

Yup, Noah must be doing some of his boxing technique again. My dad greets his friend George and Wanda, and I can feel my mother’s slim finger poke my side.

“Mom.” I groaned while she giggles.

“We have George and Wanda here, sweetie.” She said.

I turn around and let my mom brings my hand up, “Nice to meet you beautiful lady.”

George compliment makes me laugh and smile at him warmly, the next is I was hugged with a woman which I supposed Wanda. That woman is petite, definitely smaller than my mom. I smile at her warmly.
