Growing up, I felt different than most boys.

For me, I didn't really enjoy playing with toy trucks and being outdoors.

Growing up, I would stay indoors with my mother and watch movies or sing songs.

While my brother would rather be in the woods with my father all day long.

Growing up, I fell in love with the more artistic side of things.

Singing songs, writing stories and re watching Titanic every day.

Growing up, I found myself confused.

Why didn't I like girls like I was supposed to?

Growing up, I tried to follow society's role for boys.

But as I got older, I realized that I just couldn't do it anymore.

I liked boys and I wasn't afraid to admit it.

Looking back on how scared I was of coming out, all I can say is I did it.
