Another day in Elmore, bright and sunny, cheerful as always. And in the house of the Wattersons' slept a young blue kitten named Gumball. Although he was 12 years of age, his immaturity and curiosity always managed to get the best of him; getting himself and his brother into all sorts of problems around the town. His brother Darwin, a goldfish that grew legs while he was trying to get back home after he was accidentally flushed down the toilet, wouldn't necessarily encourage Gumball to mess around with the physical properties of the town in which anything is possible.
The alarm clock that sat on the dresser began its obnoxious ringing. "Nooooo." The blue cat moaned, pulling out a paw from under his warm blanket to stop the alarm. He grunted as he began to bang his fist on to the various buttons of the alarm clock until he finally hit the snooze button.
Darwin suddenly jolted awake
"Time to be productive!" He shouted enthusiastically. The goldfish jumped out of his fishbowl and put his shoes on. "Mmmmmnn." Gumball moaned angrily as he shifted in his bed to face away from the sunbeams shining through the blinds. Darwin hummed to himself turning around to look at his cat brother. He reached out a fin to stroke the fur on the blue cat's head. Darwin could faintly hear a purr rumbling in the cat's throat as the feline slowly smiled. Awww the goldfish thought as began to head for the door, opening it and walking out.
Gumball chuckled softly, opening his eye slowly to look back at the door. He kicked off his bed sheets and let the cool morning air rush through his clothes and over his fur. The young cat let out a long satisfied sigh.
He pulled out his phone from under his pillow to mess around on social media and text his girlfriend. "Ugh, low battery." Gumball growled and let the phone fall onto his chest. There was a sudden knock at the door and a voice came through. "Honey? Can i come in?" It was Nicole, Gumball's mother.
"Yea" He moaned, relaxing his muscles to let his arms and legs spread out on his bed. "Gumball sweetie, we're going to the mall to buy ingredients for a special meal I'm going to make; do you want anything?" Nicole peeked from behind the door.
Too lazy to even say 'no', the blue kitten replied with a simple flick of his tail. "Hmm." Nicole hummed as she noticed the clothes that her offspring wore. She walked towards him and took a closer look at his wear. There where holes and threads covering his shirt and shorts caused by the kitten's claws getting caught on his clothes during his sleep.
"Looks like you need new clothes, what size are you?" She asked gazing down at him with an eyebrow raised. Again to lazy to reply, Gumball lifted his arm and let it fall back down. Nicole sighed and grabbed her son's waist, pulling him off the bed. "Ugh, Gumball." She growled as he unsheathed his claws to grip the bed.
She carefully unhooked the blue kitten's claws from the bed sheets and pulled him back towards her. Holding him by his waist in one arm, she checked the tags of his shirt and shorts and set the kitten back down on the bed. With a gentle pat on his head, Nicole headed for the door and left.
Gumball sighed again and reached for the land line phone on the dresser, dialing Penny's number. He hummed a tune that he had been wanting to play on his ukulele for a while, even considering to be a part in a song he wanted to write for Penny. Until finally she answered "Hey Gummy." She chimed through the phone. "Hey penny." He smiled and blushed lightly at his new nickname. "Errr.. i was wondering if you could come over, I'm....bored." The blue cat moaned.
"Um, let me ask my dad first." She said placing the phone down to go find her father. Gumball began to hum the tune again softly. He looked at the face of his paw and and turned it to look at his palm. His steady breath stirring the fur on his paws. The feline unsheathed his claws, eyes widening at how long they'd grown. "Guess its time for a clip." he mumbled to himself.
