The Spirit that Would Never Surrender

1.The Temple

"Griffin,raise your arm up then strike." Soft Master guided me. I nodded and raised my arm and struck my opponent. He fell like a stone. I bowed." Thank you Soft Master." He nodded. "Go train with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes." "Yes Soft Master." I bowed and left. I found Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow sparing. When they finished I spoke "Hey Strom Shadow, Snake Eyes." "Hello Griffin." Said Snake Eyes  Storm Shadow waved. "Soft Master told me to go train with you." I walked onto the mat. "Free for all?" Suggested Snake Eyes. Storm Shadow and I nodded vigorously. We started. I swung a kick at Snake Eyes as Storm Shadow attacked us from behind. We were a whirl of fists and kicks. As always we kept at it until one of us dropped from exhaustion. This time it was Storm Shadow. "Congratulations Snake Eyes, we are the last man and woman standing. But not for long." With that I quickly swept his legs out from under him and placed my foot on his chest. "I am the last one standing." I said leaning down in his face just out of reach. I could tell that he was going to attack when a voice called out." Very good. You have been  training well" We stood and bowed to Hard Master. "Thank you Hard Master." We said together as he walked away. After I let Snake Eyes up and together we pulled Storm Shadow to his feet Snake Eyes let go of Storm Shadow who was on my right and walked on my left. He jabbed me in the ribs." Next time I'll get you Griffy." "Ha. You wish." After we had gotten cleaned up the three of us walked into the kitchen. We got our trays and sat at a table in the far corner. "So what do you want to do after lunch?" I asked Snake Eyes. (Storm was still tired.) "Well we could finish sparing." He said with an evil glint in his ice blue eyes. "I will defeat you this time." "As if." I scoffed. "We'll see now won't we." "Yes we will." I said emphasizing the will part. We finished eating dropped Storm at off at the room three of us share and went back to the training room. "One,Two,Thee!" We counted and flew at each other.

Snake Eyes and I hobbled to our room and lay down next to each other on our mats. We were just starting to fall asleep when Storm Shadow burst in." Come on. Do you want to spar. I'm hungry let's go eat dinner." Snake and I glared at Storm. I threw a thick heavy hardcover book at him. I smiled when it him dead center on his face. He frowned at me while Snake chuckled beside me. "Storm we spared while you were asleep. We are tired. So let us sleep." He grinned. "Who won?" He asked as he lay down on the mat next to me so that I was in between them
"Go away! I said that I wanted to sleep! I'm trying to rest! Go bug someone else Storm!" "So little Griffy lost huh." Snake grinned. "Yes she did." "Will you both be quite!" I said my tone getting dangerously low. "Or do I have to make you. Sword brothers or no, you both know I will do it! And I am only a month younger that you both." I said glaring. "Really Griffy threatening. You know we could take you. And besides a month makes you the baby." "Oh really." I flew at him. I managed to punch him before he kicked my stomach. Storm pulled me off him and held me down while Snake got on top and tickled me mercilessly. "S...st...o.....p....." "Say it Griffy." "N...........never!" He turned up his tickling I could hardly breathe. Tears streamed down my cheeks and my face was flushed. "S.........sen............sei." He backed off." Realy! We are 11 you're both almost 12. We are no longer children! Grow up!" I scolded. They did not pay attention. They hugged me between them smothering me. "I hate you both." I glared at them punching Snake's shoulder. "We love you too." They said together. "Let's go eat." At that Storm was out like a flash. Snake and I giggled. He got up and offered me his hand and helped me up. "Thanks." He nodded. We walked to the kitchen for dinner side by side.
