Just a Little Bit

Nine

It makes me sad to think this will come to an end one day. I say this because it has been the best month of my life. My mom came back from her trip and I can see Ellie again. She brought Ellie back some new outfits and brought me back some $500 chocolate bars and some clothes. 

Mack and I have been doing, whatever it is we are doing,  for about 3 months now. This week has been extra fun because we've been on a date every single day. It's Thursday and I'm excited to see what Mack is going to pull out his bag of tricks today. 

I get dressed in some of the clothes my mom bought me. I ran downstairs and grab breakfast, talk to my mom, made sure Ellie gets on the bus, and then left for school. My daily routine seems just a little bit mundane until I see Mack. I swear he makes my day brighter but my pride won't let me tell him that. 

I arrive at school. Something feels off as soon as I park my car. 

"Hmm."

I shake it off and walk to class. I have Chemistry this morning. Ugggghhh.

I got to school a little late because Ellie's bus was late so I arrive at school right when the first period bell rings. I walk into my chemistry class.

I see Mack and head towards him and say "Hi!"

He just nods and grunts.

I look at him with a questioning glance, "Who pissed in your cornflakes, Grumpy McGrumpinson?"

"Syd, I have to tell you something."

"What's up?"

"I..."

"HELLO PEASANTS THE QUEEN HAS ARRIVED!"

I chuckle and turn around. 

Sangria and Peebles are standing over me.

"What do you think you're doing?", Sangria says.

"Umm talking to my...I'm talking to Mack."

"I don't remember giving you permission to talk to my boyfriend."

"Sangria, He's not your boyfriend. Cut the sh!t."

"NO. You cut the sh!t SYDNEY."

"Ughhh...F*ck this whore." , Peebles says as she lunges for me. Sangria stops her. I smile in response. I don't even flinch.

"Not now Peebles. She's not worth it."

I chuckle and smirk at their attempt to threaten me. 

"Stay away from MY man and I won't ruin your life."

At this point I just stare and look at Mack. I hope and pray secretly that this is a joke. 

"Is this what you had to tell me? You're leaving me for vodka."

Mack just gives me a his "i'm sorry" face.

"The name is Sangria. Stay away from him you whore."

"Oh I'm a whore."

"You f*cking b!tch"

I'm just about to slap her proper and then Peebles pushes me. I fall on Mack. He catches me and tries to hold me back.

"GET THE F*CK OFF OF ME!" I stand up and punch Peebles in her smug face. As she falls she tries to grab my hair. I dodge her grab and straddle her now fallen body and continue my assault on her face. Sangria grabs my hair and tries to yank me off of Rock. I body slam her on top of her friend and start punch both of them. 

"B!TCH Y'ALL TRYING TO JUMP PEOPLE NOW HUH!"

My best friend, Ginger, comes to help me. Now there is an even fight. We continue to wreck Mack and her boyfriend pull Ginger and I off of Peebles and Sangria.

Blood and weave is everywhere. 

I'm shaking and feel like I'm about to pass out. Ginger notices and pulls me to the side. 

"Breathe, Syd, Breathe. Hold for 10. Let go for 10. Please don't pass out. C'mon. Stay with me!"

She shakes me to keep me coherent. I feel myself slipping slowly until feel someone pick me up and carry me out of the class. The person stops. I hear screaming towards the person who is carrying me. Person stops and screams back at them. This human is warm. I snuggle into said human and as soon as I'm about to slip out of consciousness. I feel a nice breeze on my face. I start seeing light.

"Hi." This male human says. His voice is nice.

"Hi...." I open my eyes to see Mack sitting in front of me. I punch him in his chest.

"I guess I deserve that."

"Get away from me!"

"Syd, listen to me!"

"Shut your dirty whore mouth Tristan."

"Wha...Syd, look, I can't lose you."

"Lies, Lies, Lies. Why are you lying to me? Why?"

"Syd, I love you. Why would I lie to you?"

"Why was she saying you were her boyfriend? Huh? Why?"

"She caught my mom and her father having an affair."

"Are you f*cking kidding me?!"

"Why would I lie about this?" 

"..."

"Exactly! Now shut it and let me tell you what's going on."

"Yes sir."

"Good girl....My mom came clean with me last night about and gave me this contract that states I have to take her to prom or she is going to leak the tape she has of her and my father."

"She recorded that sh!t?!

"Apparently."

"Sick B!tch"

"I know right. But I don't know how I'm going to get out of this babe."

"Hmm...Did the contract say anything about being in a relationship with her."

"No..."

"Okay. Just stick with me and I'll handle it." 

"How?"

"A good magician never shows her tricks."

"Wait... you aren't going to kill her right?"

"And if I did?..."

"I was going to ask you to let me help."

"That's great to know. I'm going to beat her at her own game. Keep dating her like everything's fine."

"I can't because I love you."

"I know Mack but in order for my plan to work you have to act like everything is fine. Just promise me something."

"Don't have sex with her. And don't fall for her again.", I say knowing their past.

"Okay. I can do that."

"Pinky swear?

"Pinky swear."

"Okay. Meet me at my house after school."

"Okay."

We both get up and go to the door. I fall back. He holds the door for me. He looks back and sees I'm not walking with him.

"What are you doing?"

"We can't be seen with each other in school until this is over. Do you trust me?"

He smirks, "Just a little bit."

I smirk and he walks in front of me. Ignoring the inevitable suspension I am going to receive, I take this opportunity to catch my breathe and think about what I want to do. I have to expose who she really is and do this perfectly without a glitch.
