CHAPTER 4 - OBVIOUSLY UNSEEN - SKYLAR
I awoke to the sound of my own heart beating. I slowly peel each eye open, fully taking in all of my surroundings this time. "What did I do this time?" I sighed, expecting my voice to come out in a low whisper, but it barley even came out as a squeak.
"Knock Knock." said a male voice over on the other side of the room during the proccess of knocking on the open doorframe. The sudden change in sound in the room slightly scared me making my heart speed up a bit notifying the monitor. I stared at this man, automatically assuming that he was my doctor He snapped me out of my little trance by starting to speak up, "No question as to why you're here?," he said quirking his eyebrow, " I could be a psychopath that kidnapped you, and just designed his basement like a hospital cell." A hospital cell? He chuckled, coming closer to the bedstand and checking the clipboard resting on the table. My heart beat starting going faster than before, again notifying the monitor.
He quickly stared at the monitor realizing what he just did. "Love, I'm just joking, Stay calm." He slowly laughed dimples prominant on his face. His face. Something was different about him, but with me being half asleep, I couldn't put a finger on it. I kept staring, wondering why he looked like this. Did I look like that too? I felt my face for a breif second realizing it was perfectly normal.
"Hello, Alice, correct? I'm Dr. Lewis. Do you know why and whom you are here?"
"Actually, I don't know why I am here." I said a little too fast. I was eager to know.I try to remember the events from last night but my mind is blank.
"Well, Alice, you're papers say you were hit by a car." He spoke fairly slow.
Alice? My name is Alice?
"You seem to also have a bit of amnesia."
That explains why I don't even know my name.
"Well, I better leave you to sign these papers and I'll be out of your way.," he glanced at his watch before speaking up again, "Oh dear, I'm late, I must go."
He started to power walk throught the halls while turning back and saying "Good luck, Alice!"
I made my way to my clothes and quickly dressed myself. I signed the papers and walked over to the front desk and handed them to the secretary.
"Thanks doll, would you like a snack?"
'Uh sure?"
"Here sweet cheeks!" She exclaimed. Smiling the fakest smile I have ever seen.
