His eyes.
They were such a piercing green. Like an emerald jewel. Rare, and Beautiful. So it wasn't Louis' fault that he got easily lost in them. They made a sense of security wash over him. Something he hasn't felt in a long time. It was like everything in his past never happened.
But all good things must come to an end.
Finally coming to his senses. he sat upright. he had fallen asleep again in the midst of a strangers home. But the thing is, this boy didn't feel much like a stranger to him. 'I know him' kept repeating in Louis' head. He couldn't quite place his finger on it.
"Are you ok?" A deep raspy voice said, breaking him out of the trance he didn't know he was in.
Green met Blue in a stare-down amongst the two. One begging for an answer, and the other begging not to ask for the answer. Louis slightly trembled as previous memories flashed through his head, almost like an extremely fast-paced slideshow. Tears pricked his eyes as he prayed for them not to fall. he can't let his emotions show now. Not when someone he barely knew, let alone trusted, might find out.
"M'fine." he mumbled softly; brokenly.
Harry let out a small chuckle as he directed his gaze to the floor from his position on the couch next to Louis. His smile quickly faded as it was replace with remorse sadness. He shifted his eyes back onto Louis as he tried to stay strong for the broken boy.
"Why are you lying to me?" Harry asked, so quietly Louis wasn't sure if he had imagined it or not.
Shocked was an understatement. Louis was completely flabbergasted. Was he really that easy to read? Tears slowly began to push their way down his cheeks. He couldn't stop the tears, but he refused to let out a sob. Harry knew something was wrong, and there was nothing Louis could do to calm his curiosity.
Harry once again looked up , shocked to find the boy crying. It was then that he realized how dire the situation was. How broken this boy really was. How much he wanted, and needed to help fix him. Repair him. Restore him. Hesitantly, yet at the same time surely, he reached his hand out to Louis. He carefully used the pad of his thumb to brush away Louis' tears, while at the same time holding in his own. Sparks shot out where his finger touched Louis' skin.
Harry's eyes widened slightly, as he had felt this. This had never happened before, and he wasn't sure what it meant, or what to do. He was pulled out of his thoughts as he felt more tears make their way down Louis' face. Quickly wiping them away, he took his fingers and pushed Louis' chin up, making their gazes meet. Harry smiled softly at Louis , and to both of their surprises, Louis smiled back. Harry's heart fluttered at the sight as his smile widened.
Suddenly, a sharp sound rumbled lowly from the pit of Louis' stomach. He blushed profoundly and directed his gaze anywhere but Harry. It wasn't his fault. He can't remember the last time he ate properly. Suddenly, the sound growled out again, and Louis couldn't help but feel silly. Harry let out a soft laugh and shot a reassuring smile to Louis, trying to show it was ok.
"Hungry?" Harry asked Louis, as Louis just looked away and softly nodded.
"When was the last time you ate?" Harry asked Louis again, his smile fading a bit at the thought of this boy being deprived of food, or anything for that matter.
Louis just shrugged as a response, still refusing to look Harry in the eyes out of embarrassment.
Harry's smile was completely gone by now as his heart began to crack in yearning for the boy. Standing up, he towered over Louis and a soft smile again appeared on his face.
"Let's go get some food then yeah?" Harry asked Louis .
Louis looked up at Harry with bewilderment spread across his face. Why did this boy insist on helping him? He didn't need Harry's pity.
