Brooke: -a couple hours after Hunter left- "Great, I should've stayed in the god damn hospital... a fucking cat would take better care of me." I sigh as I get out of the shower. I take out some joggers and a tank top and change into them. I fix my hair into a bun walking around the house.
Speaking of cats..... I'm going to buy one, just to see if I were right, see if it would care for me better than the asshole who is apparently supposed to take care of me. ---- I walk into the store to be greeted by fish, hamsters, dogs, birds, cats and all of the things you'd usually see in Petco. It's honestly amazing how there are stores specialized for animals and animal owners and lovers! Nothing else! I walk to the cat section and look around, I watch the kittens and cats, smiling at them.
"Y'all are so adorable! I just know all of you are going to be adopted." I gush.
I jump up in suprise as a sorta familiar voice talks, "yup, we hope they get adopted too. They deserve it, anyways... I'm Ben, are you here to adopt?" There it is. The familiar voice. The guy that ruined me and Hunter before he left. But how can I blame him? I'm glad I'm not with Hunter anymore. I'm over him, I hate him.
I turn to Ben and smile. I notice he looks a bit older and better looking then when he left. I contemplated on what I was going to say before actually speaking up, "oh, hi Ben.... long time no see.What are you doing back in town?"
He instantly blushed. "Oh my gosh, Brooke. Uh, hi. Uh, I'm sorry about the thing before I left last year! Oh ummm..." he stuttered not being able to make eye contact with me.
I giggled "it's fine, don't worry about it. It was done and my life couldn't be better." I smiled, wow I'm a great liar.
"Really? I came back last month and people told me he beat you half to death....I got so worried, I had to come back...I mean we were besties....but I'm glad your okay."
"Oh yeah, right... haha guess things aren't so great but I'm alive so it works out. Besides that, are you back for good?"
"Sorta.... I live in the next town but it's real close so I come to work here and I can get things done here too. But I'm getting sidetracked, your here to adopt, am I right?" He questioned as I nodded my head. ------- He runs away for a couple minutes then comes back with a kitten. She had gray blotched fur, a small black button nose and the most vibrant green eyes.

That's my actual cat guys... her name is Ash and it will also be Ash in the story.
"I picked her, because she is just like you. You can take her, you don't need to pay." He smiled thoughtfully looking at the kitten.
"Thanks... Well, do you want to hang out at my place and catch up?" I asked staring at the kitten.
