Hunter:
"Heya momma! What's wrong ?" I smiled at her sitting down at the counter.
She frowned "Don't worry about it, Brandon won't be home until tomorrow night. Okay?"
I looked at her confused. "Why? Last time I checked, all his friends' parents hated him." I furrowed my brows.
"Just don't worry about it." She walked away talking to what seemed Brandon.

I look out of my window for what seems the 100th time in the past 3 hours. It's 11:00 now. The house next door has no light or sound coming from it. It seems....dead. Music always plays when she's home, she should've been home 3 hours ago. But who am I to care? It's only Brooke. "Guess I really taught her a lesson...where are you Brooke?" I muttered. As time flew by, the pit of my stomach grew much heavier. I check the time on my phone once again. 1:28 am.
I lay down in my bed and shut my eyes. The back of my head keeps repeating "show up tomorrow." I don't understand why.
-----
I walk into the school halls. Loud as usual, all my friends meet me up but I ignore them and head straight to Collins and Jacob. I shoot them a question in a glum manner. "Hey... yesterday was intense huh?"
They shrug, they look like they are bothered. Jacob speaks up by clearing his throat. "I- uh...do you think we...ya' know...went too far? I... I heard ambulances near the alley....she... she could be...dead. I mean her head smashed against the concrete really hard." He shivered. Collins nodded with a frown.
"No, we'll see her be in first period. If not, she'll come in late. She never misses school. We'll just... uh... skip today... let her sorta...heal?" I nervously answered. "See ya guys later. Don't want to be late aye?"
I walk into my first period and see the seat next to mine empty. It's Brooke's seat.

"Class dismissed! Do your homework and enjoy the rest of your day! Get outta campus. That includes you Bridget! I have places to be!" Ms. Janus yelled as we got dismissed for the last class of the day. My heart dropped to my feet when I realized she never came. "Hunter! She wasn't here! What do we do!? What if we killed her!?" Jacob yelled in a whisper. "Don't worry about it okay. Just go home and relax. I got this." I reassured them, hell, I didn't even know what else to think.
I walked past her house again. It was noiseless. No music, no light, no t.v, no water running, no crying, no phone calls and talking. The house looks dead. It is dead. She hasn't been home. She usually leaves her shoes out on the porch. There were no muddy shoe prints that meant she's been here. A big wave of guilt flooded over me. I immediately took my phone out and called her. No answer. I called 15 times again. No answer. A huge lump in my throat formed. I began to panic "What did I do!??? Oh my god, please don't be dead." I ran towards the alley, I arrived there 2 minutes later. Nothing but some dry blood was left. This can possibly mean she is alive.

I sat at the counter impatiently. The door swung open and Brandon came in with red and puffy eyes. "You okay? Want to talk? Where were you?" I shot questions at him calmly.
"I'm fine, I don't want to talk. I have somewhere to be. Can you bring me homework from school for the next couple days? Thanks bye." He runs up to his room. He soon comes back down in fresh clothes with a backpack and runs back out the door without a word.
