Appearance: 5'2, slender hourglass figure, pale skin, straight shoulder length dark chestnut brown hair with overgrown bangs swept to right side of face, large sapphire blue eyes with dark long lashes.
Personality: Quiet but polite and kind, until you get to know her. Then she is loud, sarcastic, brutally honest and loves to joke around. She isn't shy, but isn't sure how to approach people until they've approached her, she judges how to react by how they act to her. If they're mean, she'll be meaner but if they're nice, she'll befriend them with her easy going and laid back nature. In fights, she scoffs and mocks her opponent and enjoys making them feel inferior. She never blushes and never gets flustered. She's also pretty flirty when she wants to be.
Past: Manami has never known her parents. She grew up in an orphanage. She couldn't stand the small house, and always felt trapped, and it didn't help that the woman in charge would abuse the children. At the age of 8, she ran away from the orphanage and began living on the streets of various towns, making her way around the world by sneaking into the cargo hold of ships. She was caught by Shanks in his ship. She had been worried to meet the captain when she was caught, and was surprised when he laughed at her, and offered to take her to the next town. During her time on his ship, she watched and learned various skills and basic self defence. It was then she picked up her carpenting and sail making skills. After being dropped off, she continued to train herself and mastered a couple martial arts, as well as taking temporary jobs as a carpenter. She only ever took temporary jobs as she still travelled as often as she could, never staying in one place too long. When she was 12, she had stolen into the cargo on an unknown ship, and only after they had set sail did she realize they weren't' the type of pirates that would show mercy. They seemed more vicious than the usual pirates she managed to sneak past. During her journey, she kept silent and made sure she wouldn't be seen. It was then she had discovered the devil fruit. Hungry, she looked at it dubiously before eating it. She hadn't realized what it was until then. That was when she discovered she had powers, and only after the ship had docked had she discovered she couldn't swim anymore. Not being able to swim devastated her, as Manami always loved to swim and was good at it. She met Luffy when she was 16. He, Zolo, Sanji and Nami had docked into a town she was working in. She was going through a phase in her teenage years where she was obsessed with hats, and after stealthily sneaking past his crew mates in a bar, she took off with Luffy's hat, getting chased down by him. He caught her by stretching his arms and capturing her, pulling her back. She gave his hat back and looked at him with puppy dog eyes, apologising profusely, and explaining she just loved his hat. She found out that he was in town because his ship needed mending. She explained she could fix anything and he let her get to work. After being impressed with her work, she was allowed to become part of the crew.
