I decided I would put it on, and it felt heavy on my neck as I walked down the hall in silence shocked at the discovery I had just made. I had powers of some kind and this necklace mom had given me somehow controlled that power. I walked to my desk in Satan's class like a zombie.
"Hey! Nadia your dad is gonna tell a story! Awesome right? I mean way better the usual crap we do! Nadia? You okay?" Bella Castle- Mia Rinaldi and Eddie Castle's daughter- one of my best friends asked."I- Yeah, I just found out something, really weird..." I mumbled still shocked.
"Like wh-" Bella was interrupted by Stan.
"Today we have a very special guest that will be telling us a story today. Please give a round of applause to one of our very own's father, Guardian Belikov!" Stan introduced my father. The sound of all the hands clapping was deafening. My dad stepped in front of the class, graceful as usual.
He cleared his throat, then smiled down at me, "Hello, my name is guardian Belikov. I'm sure you all know my daughter, Nadia," all eyes turned on me and I blushed slightly, thanks dad, "I will tell you the story of when Guardian Hathaway and I first discovered the school was under attack," My dad's voice echoed through the room, everyone was completely focused on him.
" I had to take guardian Hathaway away to the woods to calm down a bit, after we had found that her charge had been attacked by a group called, Mana. Guardia Hathaway was quite upset and stopped the group before they were able to harm her worse. She went after the leader of the group, Jesse Zeklos, " His voice hardened as he spoke the name, that explained it, that's why he hated Logan, his dad hurt mom's charge, "She lost control and we had to restrain her. Because I was her mentor I took her away to take care of her wounds, we were on our way back when she had stopped. I automatically went on guard. Guardian Hathaway had the ability to see ghosts and one of her old friends, Mason Ashford, warned her of Strigoi nearby she, in turn, warned me and a second later we saw the first Strigoi and I staked it. I told Guardian Hathaway to go and warn the others, she wanted to stay and fight but I wouldn't allow her," There was a softening in his voice as he spoke about my mother. "She warned the other guardians and because she did that she saved many lives. I quickly found another Strigoi and killed that one too, I searched the woods determined to find as many as I could. I lost count of how many I killed that night, but I did not kill the most. Because of Guardian Hathaway, no Stigoi got into the elementary campus she and my charge, Lord Ozera, killed the most out of everyone," Dad's voice was filled with pride as he spoke of my mom's victories, I had known she was good but not that good. He continued his story about how mom suggested we save those that had been captured, including Bella's dad- when he told us that part I looked over at Bella to see she was crying, she loved her father. My dad ended the epic story by saying, "We were almost out of the cave when I was attacked and bitten by a Strigoi. Obviously I am still alive though, Guardian Hathaway saved me," What? That's not right.
I raised my hand, my dad looked at me surprised at why I would have a question, I had heard all the stories before, "Dad? How did Mo- Guardian Hathaway, save you?"
He took a deep breath, then answered me, "She killed the Strigoi that had bitten me as well as fighting her own attackers," Everyone gasped excitedly at the thought of my mother, I was about to ask something else but then I saw something in his eyes that told me to shut up, he hated that he had been turned Striogi and didn't want people to know about it.
"I heard, she didn't save you, she ran away to save herself and you were turned Striogi. Then the Queen saved you, not you're wonderful wife," An obnoxious voice announced to the class. I saw my father's knuckles turn white from clutching his fist so hard. I bet it was all he could do not to go over to him and knock that guy out.
"She did save me and she did retreat with the others. I remember she was fighting her mother very hard to try and come back to get me. And if she had stayed she would have died. We are both alive now with a daughter so that's all that matters now," He had his guardian face on but I knew the thought of mom dead, killed him.
"I know but how? And how do you know that she's you're daughter? For all you know Hathaway could've cheated on you with a Mori," He retorted again. Now I really, really, wanted to hit him.
"Mr. Price! This is off subject you have no right to ask these questions!" Stan shouted speaking up for the first time.
"I bet it was Ivashkov, didn't they screw around before you took his place in bed with Hathaway?" He continued I recognized him now, Chase Price the jackass of the year. I couldn't take it anymore, he sounded as if he were one or two seats away from me. I needed to get my hands on him.
My father screamed, "Nadia Hathaway Belikov is my daughter!" My dad had just lost his cool he never lost his cool. Ever. It wasn't an option anymore I had to teach that guy a leson.
I leaped up out of my seat and lunged at him.
As I did this I felt as if the air was carrying me to him, the air was warmer than it had been a second ago and the sweat on my face was burning boiling hot it was almost leaping off my face to get to Chase faster. His wooden desk collapsed as if an earth user had done something to it. My fist connected to his nose and I heard a satisfying crunch, I kept beating him with my fists that were beginning to get really hot. A strong set of hands that could only be my father's pulled me away.
"Nadia! Stop this now!" My father barked, we were surrounded by chaos as people tried to get away from me. My father let go abruptly as if something had burned him looking stunned. I turned around ready for everyone. When another feeling joined my anger, but not my feeling.
It was joy that I was feeling, from the Queen herself. How did I know that? I let my guard down for a moment to long, I crashed into the ground, hitting my head hard on the floor. The world around me faded into nothingness, the shouts of who I assumed to be my father turned to whispers. I only was sure of one thing. I had an affinity for all of the elements. With that last astonishing thought I blacked out more confused than ever. What am I? Was my last conscious thought.
