Dobrev (Emily)Emily POV:
I sat still, frozen. I could't believe what was happening. We'd been so close to freedom, civilization. I cursed myself for being so stupid. I turned around in my seat and looked at Marshall. The look on his face said it all. He was fuming. His eyes bulging, cheeks red.
"Man come on!" he yelled and tried the doors again.
"Put your damn seat belt on!" the man cursed as he sped off down the road.
"We'll do anything!" I pleaded with him but he had his eyes focused solely on the road. Fuck this shit. I wasn't about to sit back and enjoy the ride to my possible death. I was going to plead all I wanted.
"Marcus, Andrew, and Cam need you. You're vital to their plans."
"Fuck off, I don't understand why you people do shit like this." Marshall spat. I jabbed him in the side with my elbow.
"Shut up! You going off on a nut isn't going to help us!" I murmured harshly.
"Well do have any ideas on how to get the fuck out of here?" he looked at me hopelessly.
"Will you two save your chitter chatter for later?" the man grumbled, slowing the car down. I gulped, preparing myself for the worst. We pulled over on the side of the road. As I looked out the window, I cringed, witnessing the place I least wanted to be right now."If it's to do with drugs, I'm not doing shit." I said. The man sighed as we walked up to the house. I could see Marshall desperately wanted to make a run for it, but I grabbed his arm.
"You're gonna get us killed!" I whispered harshly under my breath.
"They're gonna kill us anyway."
"Shut up. Don't say that." suddenly the door opened to the house and Marcus sauntered out. Andrew and Cam followed closely behind.
"If you don't do what they say they'll kill you. I'm sure of it." I turned and looked at the man, surprised.
"You're trying to help us?" he shook his head quickly and looked up at Marcus.
"You decided to come back to us!" Marcus exclaimed as he looked me and Marshall up and down suspiciously, inspecting us.
"Did anyone see you?" he questioned. Marshall shook his head. I sighed, feeling slightly intimidated by Andrew and Cam. They were glaring at me, making me feel uncomfortable.
"That's great. That's just great." he took a step towards Marshall.
"You shouldn't have done that. Running away with your girlfriend was a stupid idea." he flickered a glimpse at me. I quickly looked away.
"What do you want from us Marcus. Just tell us so we can get it over and done with." Marshall groaned. Marcus took a step back and put his hand up to his face, thinking.
"Well, first of all we need the money." Marshall laughed at Marcus's comment.
"Don't be asking me. I can't get it for you," he simply said. "I've been gone for over 24 hours, people will be panicking." Marcus cursed.
"Well we'll have to steal it."
"How are you gonna cover that up Marcus?" Marshall questioned angrily.
"Oh, you thought I was gonna steal it? It's your money! You get it. Without being seen, may I add."
"And if I don't?" he questioned, a look of worry and mischief on his face.
"We have a bit of fun with your girlfriend," he smirked. "Just get the fucking money Marshall. Then you'll be in the clear."Marshall POV:
"You can't leave me, what if they do something really bad to me?" she pleaded, clutching onto my arm.
"Emily I have to go, I have to do this. I won't be gone long."
"But you have to go to the city-"
"All I have to do is get into one of the accounts. I'll transfer all the money over-"
"But after that, what about after you do all that? Will they be happy? Or are they really that sick and inhuman that they-"
"Emily," I pulled her into my arms. "This will be over soon. I'll make sure they don't do anything to hurt you. I'll make a deal with them. If they hurt you they ain't getting their money. And they want that money badly." she grabbed onto me and I sighed. Images of Kim flashed and flickered in my mind. Emily won't hurt me like you did, she needs me right now and I can't ignore that.
"There'll be security at your apartment." she pulled away from me and sniffed.
"Marcus is gonna create a distraction. I'll be in and out in an hour max." she nodded, obviously not entirely convinced.
"Be safe." she said. I nodded and stroked a piece of hair out of her face. Suddenly someone banged down on the door.
"Are you done in there?" Andrew shouted.
"Hang on!" I yelled. Emily let go of me.
"I'll see you later." she said. I nodded and walked towards the door.Emily POV:
He walked out without another word. The door slammed shut and I was alone. It scared me. Images of my parents and my brother made their way into my mind. Considering I was 28, I no longer lived with my parents. My brother was 23 and he still lived with mom and dad. It was stupid, considering I'd moved out at the age of 17. I'd wanted to get the hell outta there. Now I was regretting doing just that. No one knew when they were going to die. Everyone lived their lives like they were going to live forever. But accidents happened, and just like that you could no longer exist in the world. It was hard to think about and it had been weighing down on me for the past 24 hours. What if I never saw my parents or my brother again? I had to get out of here. But Marshall's life was on the line. Marcus was with him, and if he found out I escaped, he would surely kill Marshall. I couldn't risk it. I would have to wait. For now it was just me myself and I, and the peaceful sound of silence.
