Newton's third law. Every action has an equal or opposite re-action. How very true that is. We blow up half a villa, they blow up half the CIA headquarters. Apparently Mr. Dertoten had a couple friends that had a grudge against the CIA. What better an excuse? Anyway, our first mission was a complete mess-up, half of the CIA is dead, and the only clues we have are Dertoten's accomplices. He has only one accomplice. His assistant, or actually his sister, Viktoria Dertoten.
"I am going to kill that..." Raven started, but I cut her off.
"She's probably halfway around the world by now. Plus, we only have what we have left from the mission."
Raven punched a light post. I ran over to the cops standing outside the building. "Did you salvage anything?"
"We only salvaged ammunition. Everyone on the right side of the building is ok, but no survivors on the left."
I clenched my fist. I had trouble dealing with murder, even when it happened somewhere else. I heard a scream from the other side of the parking lot. "MR.QUIGLEY!!!!!!!!! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
A girl in a lab coat ran over to me. She was out of breath when she reached me and was holding multiple papers. Her glasses were very big. "Mr. Quigley! I need to speak to you!"
"Yes?" I reply awkwardly.
"My name is Mira Vadalinski! I'm a scientist at the CIA headquarters!"
I took a good look at her. She was covered in ash, and was...shorter than me...
"How old are you, Mira?"
"15!"
Oh wow. She's just like the rest of the youth division. Young. Some would say too young.
"Oh, ok. So what's up?"
"I want to join your squad!"
I look at her puzzled, but she seems dead serious. Can I even authorize that? "I don't know. Ask the director."
She gives me a sorry look. "She's...gone...I'm sorry."
I clenched my fist again. That bloody German is going to get what's coming to her. 10 fold. She might be so lucky to experience even Armageddon. Hopefully Armageddon. "Mr. Quigley?"
She looked at me worryingly. I replied quickly to make her think nothing is wrong. "Please, call me Josh."
"She authorized you to be the commander of the squad before she died. So, how 'bout it?"
"Are you field trained?"
"No, but I was hoping to be the group's scientist, accountant, and scout."
I wondered if she would be a good asset. "I'll go over it with the rest, ok?"
"Yes! Take your time!"
She went to talk to the police officers about forensics or something, but she was now out of earshot. Mitch looked at me, puzzled. "Who's the chick?"
"Mira Vadalinski, apparently. She wants to be the part of the group."
Pyra looked at me with an even more confusing look. "Shouldn't she be taking that up with the director?"
"She's...she's dead, Pyra. Gone. I was assigned the new commander of the Youth Division."
They all looked sad. I joined them. I need to clear my head. Jason spoke. "The people we are dealing with can blow up half the CIA. We'll need all the help we can get."
"How about 6 plane tickets to Germany?"
Mira came over holding 6 plane tickets. Mitch looked love-struck. "Thank you Mira!"
Pyra looked very acceptant of her. Mira smiled. We all looked at each other in agreement.
"Mira, welcome to the Youth Division."
