Ryan woke up in a panic, sweat covering his face.

Another nightmare.

He was getting sick of them already. Almost every night for the last month or so, the same damn nightmare always came to him.

His nightmare was always the same, every single time. A black haired boy with dark eyes and dark clothes trying to hurt him. Luring him into an old, abandoned house, the grass overgrown and dead like. There was a giant tree, Ryan assumed it was an oak tree, and it was leafless, only adding to the creepiness of the house. There were broken shutters on the windows, some of them banging on the outside of the house as the wind blows. The house gave Ryan an eerie feeling and he didn't want to be anywhere near it, but he couldn't leave it.

Usually he could make himself wake up from a dream, or other nightmares, but this one was different, and Ryan noticed it after the third time he had it.

He feels stuck in another world when he's dreaming. He can't move, he can't scream, he can't do anything except approach the house that the dark haired boy lured him to.

Ryan has never made it inside of the house in his nightmares because -thankfully- he always wakes up just before he's about to walk through the big brown door with the gargoyle knocker on the front of it.

"Jesus, fuck." He pants, lying his head back on his pillow. The dreams didn't start happening until he and family moved to Portland from Vegas.

His dad had a job change, resulting in less hours but better pay, and he took it so he could spend time with his family.

Ryan is the middle child of three. He has an older brother, Gavin who's 22, and a younger sister, Britton who's 15. Two years younger than Ryan. His parents were young when they had Gavin, and they got married just before Ryan was born. Seventeen years later, they added another child and lived a happy life so far.

His mom was a little on edge about moving out of state, since she's lived there her entire life. Ryan couldn't have cared less whether they moved or not, because he was an outcast. He had a few friends back home, but none that he hung out with outside of school.
