aaron is assigned to give a gift to his crush - High School AU
its not Christmas but this is cute so

"mom," aaron complained sitting on the couch, "do i really have to do the whole gift exchange thing?"

"yes!" chas said from the kitchen, "its tradition, you only need to get the person one thing, its not that hard."

aaron groaned, "how am i supposed to know what to get them?"

"simple get to know the person." chas said with a smile, "why is this a issue?" she asked looking at him.

he shrugged and looked down ignoring her stare, he saw who he got paired with: robert sugden the guy he recently developed a crush on.

as days go by and christmas eve comes closer aaron begins to stress out. robert was in aarons business class so they began talking but it didn't really help in what he could get him. he can't really flat out ask him. robert knows his mom hosts it so he would know right away.

"bro why dont you just kiss him." his best mate adam suggests as they ate chips.

aaron snorts, "yeah, right."

"its a suggestion, that could be your gift, i see the way he looks at you mate." adam said with a big grin.

"the way he looks at me?" aaron asked confused.

"mate, you're so oblivious!" adam yelled, "he stares at you like um, i dont know mate i just know he likes ya he gets that look when he's with you, like hes less cocky or something."

aaron laughs, "don't know what you're going on about mate, you've got it wrong doesn't he like chrissie?"

"nah mate, i reckon she has the hots for him though! better give him a proper snog before she gets him."

"you really reckon i should give him a snog for his secret santa?"

"totally mate."

aaron shakes his head smiling, "you're weird mate, don't know how i put up with you."

"because you're in love with me mate!" adam says laughing as aaron glares at him.

aaron bit his lip, is he really doing what adam said, after much thinking and struggling with finding a decent gift he decided to give adams idea a go. probably not a good idea but it's worth a try.

he walked into the pub noticing people were being to show up. the sugdens arrived pretty early. as they enter robert passes around aaron and gave him a smile. aaron raised his eyebrows at the action.

once the pub was filled with the people chas gathered everyone in the pub and told them to give each other our gifts. aaron pulled on his sleeves shaking his head, it was now or never.

he looked up and saw robert looking at him he nodded his head towards the back room, a sign to follow him. he took a deep breath and left.

robert followed him into the room, "er, hi." aaron said scratching the back of his neck.

robert smiled, "hiya?"

"so i'm your secret Santa," aaron said looking up at robert, "didn't want everyone to see what i got ya."

"oh? alright what is it then?" robert asked with curiosity.

"it's not really a object. kinda." aaron said his face turning red.

"what is it then?" robert asks with his arms crossed on his chest.

aaron stares at him for a moment and takes a step closer making robert eyes widen.

"this." aaron said and leans forward to kiss him.

its far to short for aarons liking but robert never pushed him away so he was okay with it, before pulling away he opens his eyes to see robert shocked face.

"was that not okay?" aaron asks quietly looking down to his shoes.

"it was better then okay aaron." he looks up, seeing roberts eyes shine with happiness, and pulls him back in for a kiss holding his face with both hands.

"best christmas present ever." robert says hugging aaron.
