It actually happened. Eren always had the fear of driving, what he hated more was driving in a car at night. Everything happened so fast, the boy didn't know if he had spaced out or not.
Tonight was a chilly night in Germany, Eren and his mother, Carla, were heading back home from the airport after dropping the boys father off since he had a business trip.
Eren was being more cautious than usual, enough to the point his mother got fed up with his slow driving, "Eren, any day now, I have work in the morning." Carla griped to her son, crossing her arms.
Eren looked over at his mother, taking his eyes off the road for a split second, "Well I'm just trying to keep us safe-" He got cut off by his mothers screams.
"Well look out! It's not working!" Carla shrieked before you heard nothing but metal toppling down a hill.
Once everything had stopped, Eren opened his eyes, the dashboard was unstably still clinging onto the car, most of the weight landing on his legs, the boy looked over to see the bloodied up face of his mother resting against the cracked car window.
Eren saw headlights of a car appear at the top of the hill, the persons loud voice echoing down "I'll call 9-1-1! Stay calm!"
Eren looked over at his mother again, seeing all the glass stuck in her legs, the same piercing pain of glass stuck in his cheek and chin. The boy reached out a hand and grabbed his mothers wrist, feeling a pang of sadness as he started singing.
"You are my sunshine.." Eren sang sadly with a crack in his voice, "You make me happy.. When skies are gray.."
After that line, Eren felt a glimmer of hope when he felt his mother grip his own wrist back, "You'll never know dear.." He sang softly.
"How much I love you.." Carla's weak and feeble voice had joined in, the color in her body slowly draining away.
Eren Choked back tears, "Please don't take my sunshine away.." They sang shakily and softly together, but as soon as the lullaby ended, Eren's mothers grip went limp, her face going completely pale as her breathing eased to a stop.
