Types of Mental Illnesses is a story created by the #FreeMentalIllness campaign for readers to learn more about mental illnesses.

This is a good way to help your research for your #FreeMentalIllness story (if you're doing one). We aren't professionals but we try our best to find plenty of information about each mental illness.

On our former account, the Types of Mental Illnesses there had plenty of people self-diagnosing themselves in the comments. An example of this would be "This is me" or "I have this". Please don't self-diagnose, we don't recommend it since it can be unhealthy for you and your mind. We don't mind comments saying "I think I have this" because it says that you're more skeptical of it. We highly recommend that if you do feel like you have that mental illness to consult a doctor.

Most of the information for these mental illnesses are from the site Mayo Clinic. However there are a couple other sites that are used such as WebMd and healthline.

Also, some mental illnesses and their symptoms seem similar. The symptoms can often cross paths, but this doesn't mean you have that mental illness unless diagnosed by a real medicinal professional.

The first type of mental illnesses will be coming soon!
