Tyler.

"Tyler, where are you going?"

"School." I gruffed.

"A-are you sure- I mean," Mum was gushing, and I could easily tell she was about to ramble. "You're alright now? But hold on-you can't just leave like that. We need to talk, Tyler."

"I'm going to be late, mum." My voice came out strained.

"But we need to talk. It'll just take a while." Her expression was soft, and for a second there, I thought she was actually genuine with her words. "And you don't have to worry about being late. I'll let your brother send you to school, so please just come and sit with and we'll-"

And as if on cue, her phone rang. She was still now, her lips pursed - wasn't sure if it was because she was trying to hold back the urge to answer the call, or if she was pissed with the interruption.

But in the end, she still answered it. Well, damn.

"Hold on." She said.

She was always like this. I felt like - like I don't know what. Like all the things she's been saying to me were all shams - bullshit. That woman and her god damn lies. She would comfort me one minute, cooing me with all her pretentious words of "love", and then the next thing I know, she would diverge her attention to her work - just like that. It was pathetic.

I was pathetic.

Well, at least I felt pathetic.

I inhaled sharply and tried to collect myself. There was something twisting at the very pit of my guts, and boy, did I know what it was. My fists clenched, and I was this close to raging right then and there - in front of her eyes. But before anything went out of hand, I lunged myself through the door and shut it behind me.

Shaun was there. Confused, obviously.

"Whoa, whoa," He motioned to Mum who was still inside the house, "What just happened there?"
