On the car ride home, it was awkward to say the least. The tension was thick with the fight earlier and the bruise on my collar bone was clearly evident.
We walked inside my house after pulling in, quickly saying hi to mom and running upstairs to my bedroom.
I sat there and flipped through a magazine and he stared me down. "What?!" I said shoving my magazine down into my lap. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah." the word curtly came out my mouth and I pulled up the magazine again. Flipping through it angrily.
"Hailyyyyyyyyyy"
Flip.
"Hailessssssssss"
Flip. I see him peek over my magazine
"Hailowwwwww"
"Oh. My. God. What?" I said agitated.
"You love me right?" he said giving me a hopeful smile. "Yeah, yeah" I said rolling my eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm just really possessive and protective over you and I don't ever want to see you get hurt and he just irks me." Kyle said sincerely.
"It's okay, you do need to remember that I am my own person and if a guy and me have a thing it's us and friends will always be equal. Damien and I don't even have a thing. We're just trying to be friends and he went around it the wrong way." I explained.
"Ya think? Since we're friends we should just kiss? No. But thank you Hailow."
"C'm here." I said out reaching my arms and turning so we could do some friendly cuddling.
Slowly I drifted off into sleep in the warm arms of my best friend.
