Fang's POV
I tapped Max's shoulder. "Max..! Max please.. don't be dead.."
Thankfully, I seen her chocolate brown eyes flutter open. "Wha..?" She mumbled.
She was obviously clueless of what happened.
"Fang..?" She groaned quietly as I helped her sit up. "Where's everyone else..?" She asked. I shrugged, despite the pierce feeling in my shoulders.
Max's POV
I seen a dark figure with broad shoulders over me, and I knew it was Fang. He helped me sit up, and I held a palm on my forehead. Ugh... What happened..? I looked at him with a questioning look. "Where is everyone else..?" He only shrugged, and I could see him wince slightly.
"Report..!" I coughed out, and noticed there was dust and smoke all around us.
No one responded. Where was my Flock?
"Angel..!? Gazzy..!? Iggy..!? Nudge..!? Total..!?!"
Still no answer.
"Fang..." I looked over at him. "Where are they..?"
Fang's POV
Max looked at me with an expression I barely ever seen in my life.
Fear.
"Fang.. Where are they..!?" She nearly yelled.
I slowly began to stand up, calling all of their names all over again. And it was a reply that Max got. Nothing.
"Fang.." She began again. "They're not...." I looked down at her, and she had tears in her eyes. "Dead... Right..?"
I unlocked my gaze from her's, feeling a sting behind my eyes. No. I thought. I can't cry... I need to be strong. For Max.. I looked down with my eyes tightly closed. "Max...."
I felt her look at me, and I tensed, clenching my teeth.
"I think they're dead..." I uttered.
