Deep, deep, deep within the deepest sea lay a world where no man had ever laid eyes on since Uraltugo, the Third Magi of Alma Torran, had laid her here in her sleep--awaiting her awakening for the End of the World.
It was a lonely business, barely sensing the world above her change, shift, and grow and be unable to see it. Sometimes, fleeting, frantic noises of happiness were loud enough to reach her here, but at times, the cries and screams also permeated the air and she just wanted to go back goback goba ck back back bac k---
...
...She had been here for a long, long time.
She had always, always, always been waiting, and now her wait had paid off. The long years of isolation and aching, burning cold she had endured would now end. She could feel Her Majesty's holy arrays spring to life--the familiar scent of spring, fresh shoots, and rainbows.
Slowly, the darkness around her retreated, then engulfed her again. It was, perhaps, too soon to be hopeful.
However, if one did not hope, it would kill any chances of despair.
So the girl sleeping deep, deep, deep within the ocean floor smiled and cried as she curled up and fell asleep again.
Hope was good. It kept you alive, no matter what.
