Morning daylight, piercing from the skies through the white, fluffy clouds, giving everything the light touches an orange hue, showing off Mother Nature's life and creation. The forest, sound asleep, and all you could hear was the early birds' songs, as it vocalizes and harmonizes with the crickets, playing their tune from the night before. Tiny dew drops dotted the leaves and greenery as far as the eye could see, making a shine off of every droplet the light could reach. Faint footsteps upon the refreshed grass could be heard from a distance, but still, every animal and every life was sound asleep, undisturbed by anything.
A woman, buff and tall, hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, as she had her thin jacket that shielded her skin from the dense cold of the morning. Her hair, a milk chocolate color, blew ever so slightly in the faint breeze, her caramel eyes that compliment her hair, glisten in the early sunlight, making it an extravagant shade of a shade of brown, almost a light orange. She walked aimlessly, with a weapon strapped to her back.. and a shoulder bag empty, waiting to be of use.
Her name was Rayne.
She had nothing planned that day. She doesn't necessarily need a plan, for all she wants is to enjoy her life in this beautiful nature she likes to call home. She continued walking ahead, taking in every detail of the surrounding area, calming her nerves and mind with the intensity of it's beauty.
She walked and walked until time had passed, the beauty of the morning disappearing and being replaced by a more dangerous light of the sun, giving off it's heat to the land below it, making it too hot for the use of the thin jacket that wrapped around the woman. She took off her jacket and wrapped it around her waist, tying it securely so she could use it later.
The activity of the woodland creatures had started, showing scurrying bunnies and skittering mice, along with some bigger animals, such as pigs, horses, chickens, exotic birds with feathers so beautiful. Rayne had lived off of nothing but the land making her as a potential predator to most of the animals. She walked under a grove, with trees hundreds of feet tall with branches and leaves overhanging, giving off patches of sunlight to the floor beneath.
She looked for any kind of vegetation, ones that were edible to eat and not poisoned. She had found an apple tree, and picked off 3 fruit, taking a bite out of one, and putting the other 2 in her bag. She walked some more until she got to an area with a pond, big and deep enough to swim. She removed her boots and socks and dipped her legs in the water, cooling herself off from the intense heat. After she had finished her first apple, she removed her legs from the water and put on her socks and boots, and went on her way, aimlessly.
She walked for 20 minutes, exploring a part of the forest she had never been in. She was so caught up in the view, that she never noticed someone, or rather something, following her. A sudden noise had alerted her, causing her to immediately grab her sword out of it's holder and whip around, only to see nothing there. She cautiously turned around with her sword in hand, only to be face-to-face with a monster with a single eye, centered in the middle of his face, with teeth, sharp to the point, caged around it. It jumped back and screeched, as if it was calling out to his family. Nothing had appeared for 3 seconds, and the only thing she saw was the creature rush at her, full speed, dilated eye, and claws out to it's extent.
It wasn't long until the monster had pinned her down, ready to kill her. She kicked him off, sending him flying into a near tree. She got up, grabbed her sword, and ran. She didn't stop, for the fear of it behind her had sent adrenaline throughout her veins. She ran as fast as she could, making every turn and jump she could to escape such a demon.
Eventually, it caught up to her, jumping on her back, causing them to tumble down a hill. As the y made it down to the bottom, Rayne was pinned again, but this time it's attack was way quicker. His claw came down at incredible speed, and Rayne raised her arm to block her face, but to no avail. The demon had cut off her arm up to her elbow with nothing but extremely sharp claws, and a whole lot of force. She kicked him off again, grabbed her sword, and threw it, the sword lodged into it's shoulder, causing it to run away and leaving Rayne to herself again.
She got her jacket out and wrapped it around her arm to stop the blood, and ran. She ran to somewhere safe, somewhere she could tend to herself, somewhere with help. She arrived at a very small village. She went through, looking for someone who could help her. She collapsed on the road, where she was rushed to the medic there. She woke up with a metal band around her arm, along with cloth wrapped repeatedly around the stub where the rest of her arm would be. Luckily, the beast took off only up to her elbow. She was offered a cybotic arm, but she refused.
She spent a little more time in the village, helping out the people who reside there, doing anything she could to help repay for the generosity of them. When she had been saying her farewells to them, they offered her food, supplies, medicine, bandages, water, armor, and even a new, better sword. She equipped everything, giving the medic one last hug, and waved goodbye as she watched the village disappear into the horizon.
She never likes having anything planned for the day, she was a free spirit. She didn't like to set goals, or try to achieve something, or anything. She did what she did and lived like that for a while, but from now on, she had sworn revenge on the same beast whom she lost her arm to.
