With her bow gently gliding over the strings of the Stradivarius, Kate was sure to win this talent show. The only way that she knew this is by how hush the audience was even the principal was not hunched over his phone as he has been all night. Within her last couple of notes she held onto the last note for only half a beat extra. As her bow lowers near Kate's leg the crowd stands and starts clapping loud enough to silence an engine. She takes a short bow and walks to the backstage. When she places her violin in the casing she hears a slight rustle of clothing, and quickly latches the case. With a single breath, Kate says with a smile, "So you were able to make it to my performance?" "I wouldn't miss the best violinist in the whole world." Snow replies. "So how do you think you did on your test?" Kate questions. "Even though I went fast I think I did as good as you did." Snow says having her crimson lips curl into a smile. Without a single thought Kate propels herself on the small wooden table. Then Snow follows propping herself next to Kate and lets on arm wrap around Kate's slender body. Sitting under the small lap they both look into each other's eye, But are quickly interrupted by the speakers blaring, "To no surprise our winner again Is Kate Schumacher! Kate would you please come and claim your prize?" "Well it looks like I won again, I'll be back." Kate says making her way back to the front stage. Right as she walks into view she is hit again with the explosive clapping from the audience as she continues to the center of the stage where the principal was standing with a piece of paper in hands.
Kate quickly shakes the principal's hand and accepts the paper and starts running back to where she had left Snow. "So how much did you win this time?" Snow says right as she sees Kate's pink converse pass by the corner. Sighing Kate says "the normal hundred dollars just like the last three times." "what's wrong you are getting money for college, you should at least be happy about that."Snow says "Just I feel like I am not earning the money." Kate says having her eyes close half way. "Hey at least you are not like the others doing just random things to try to win." Snow says hoping that Kate will see it the same way. "Well Looks like your parents are coming I better get leaving so we don't repeat what happened with your mom last time." Snow says walking out the backstage exit. Kate stays motionless until her father's voice is clear, and starts walking towards her parents. "It looks like our little winner is ready, shall we go?" Kate's father says as Kate gets close. Kate just nods her head and starts walking for the parking lot in front of the auditorium. While walking through the crowd Kate keeps her violin close to her so it doesn't hit anything or anyone while getting bombarded by compliments. With her parents trailing behind Kate stays at the door holding it open for anyone who is passing by. When her parents walk through the door she lets go of the door having it almost hit her older brother and starts walking at their pace.
When her brother catches back up with the group he brings one foot in front of Kate's as she steps to trip her. Kate almost falling tries to move the small black case to where it will take no impact, but her brother catches her bringing her level. "Thanks," Kate says not knowing it was her own brother who caused it. While walking up to the silver truck the lights turn on and Kate quickens her pace to get in. Waiting for her parents and brother, Kate lays her head on the small window in the back. With a crash of doors the truck starts up and gets in motion, Kate keeping her head on the window sees Snow in the parking lot waiting for her parents to arrive. "mom can you turn the radio on please?" Kate asks in a soft voice. "sure honey!" Kate's mom says while touching the black rectangle under the dash. Right as the radio turns on the rest of the ride everyone stayed silent when normally there was some sort of chat. As the silver truck pulls up onto a dirt driveway Kate lifts her head so the bumps don't cause her head to hit the window. Going ever so slowly her dad tries to swerve away from the dips in the road caused by the heavy rain earlier in the year. Taking a slight right turn a small one story white house comes into view as the truck starts to slow down to only a crawl. Right as the lights in the truck turns off Kate grabs her violin and quickly heads for the front door knowing that the door is always unlocked. As she opens the door she hears the truck doors closing and she heads for the second room on the right. She opens the door and places her violin on a table to the left and walks to the corner of the room closing the door behind her. When her body hits the softness of the bed Kate feels a vibration come from her pocket.
Kate checks her small phone while turning on her Xbox and sees that it is Snow texting to see how she was. While pressing on the game she wants she replies with "I'm fine how about you?" and sends the message. Another vibration occurs and right as Kate checks the text she sees that this time it was not Snow and ignores the whole text. After the two minutes of developer names showing Kate finally picks up her controller and starts blasting the digital world to pieces. Then her phone goes off again and she quickly pauses the game and checks to see that it is Snow. "Yes I am sure that I am doing just fine." Kate sends trying to lie even to herself about her own condition. Right after Kate hits send she starts playing music ,but quickly changes the first song because it is one that she doesn't like. Kate getting enveloped in her game, her phone keeps on vibrating. "I guess I should stop playing for now" Kate says. She picks up her phone to find 95 missed messages all from Snow, Kate quickly texts back even knowing that she would be asleep saying "sorry that I missed all of those texts I got busy." Kate turns off her T.V. knowing that she should go to bed but instead she pulls out her computer and starts to surf the internet.
