If you have just gotten your period, and you've already told a parent/guardian, then you should ask that parent/guardian to take you out and get the supplies you need. This contains pads, tampons, chocolate, HAND wipes/HAND sanitiser, hair ties, roll on perfume, and I think that's it. I DO NOT recommend using tampons as a beginner, unless you are going in the pool. Also, if you are sitting down for a long time, or even if you just want to be extra secure, then I recommend using winged pads, and yeah. I'll show you some pads, tampons, towels???, and pantie liners here:
