I was sweating heavily after a prolonged and continuing Taijutsu battle with my father. One thing I learned after starting my taijutsu training with father was that the actual hand to hand combat techniques of this world relied heavily on speed, strength and battle intuition. It was a honest, 'who is stronger, who is faster, who is smarter' head on fight. There was absolutely not much martial arts. The only actual taijutsu techniques are unsustainable skills, like the future Leaf Dragon God , Tsunade's Fists or the Eight Inner Gates which require chakra. Anything similar to martial arts there is, is the personal fighting style each shinobi has developed for themselves or clan techniques that also depend heavily on their own kekkei genkai, such as the Juuken of the Hyuuga clan.
In a way, It is understandable. As the strength in this world was dictated mostly by chakra, chakra control, chakra manipulation and kekkei genkai, there was not much motivation for martial arts as there was for creation of ninjutsus. But on earth, where there is no chakra, and most humans were of equal strength, they had to rely on martial arts techniques to overpower the other.
When I initially decided to use the mixed martial arts which i practiced on earth as a martial arts fanatic, It had caused quite a surprise to my father and my elder cousin Ashina, who was the first in line to the crown. They had never seen a fighting style such as that of myself. After all the Uzumaki clan's taijutsu was heavily dependent on their unpredictable behavior and formless style.
"Tired yet?" asked my father
"No, just wondering if you didn't have any royal duties to do to spend so much time with me." I said, wiping away the sweat from my bare chest with a towel.
"Nope. I relegated my duties to Ashina. He is after all 25 years old now. I will soon be retiring now"
"Why now of all times? You have not yet touched 45."
"Ehehe... just so" he chuckled nervously
"What are you hiding dad?" I asked bluntly as I fixed him with my 'spill it' stare.
"Its... Its just that your mother is... pregnant...again"
"Bloody damn time" I muttered.
"Mind your language, young man. And what do you mean by 'bloody damn time'??" scolded my father.
" How long do you think I was waiting to have a little sister? I can't just come straight to you and ask you to knock up mom. I was even collecting my pocket money for my sister's present when she comes" I huffed.
"Why you little... sigh.... How do you know it is a girl? It could be a son. I, personally am pitching for a son."
"Care for a bet dad?"
"You are on son. For how much?"
"5000 ryo and the right to name her."
"How do you have that kind of money?"
"I told you, I was collecting my money for her present." I said
"Fine. Its a deal" he said
"Finally, I am just short of another 2000 ryo"
"Short for what?" asked Ashina as he walked into the training ground.
"Hey big brother, care for a bet for 2000?" I asked grinning hugely.
"A bet on what?" Ashina asked?
"How confident are you to bet another 2000?" asked my dad.
"Confident enough" I said before turning to Ashina, "I bet that I will have a little sister, a few months later. Come on, I am just 2000 short..."
