Hello everyone!
Just wanted to add this before you start reading. This MV and song actually inspired this chapter a bit so I hope you can enjoy listening to this while reading. I also do recommend you watch the drama shown in the video. It's called Ghost Detective.
Anyways, please enjoy!

(A/N: Jungkook is 8 and JaeEun is 7)

Unlike most kids who would run around making new friends to play at the playground with, JaeEun was alone sitting at the swings with her head hanging low. She couldn't understand why her parents were constantly yelling at each other almost every day. Did it have to do with dad constantly coming home from work late? Was it because mom wasn't in her right mind every other day drowning in those horrible smelling liquids she drank? Or was it because of her existence in this terrible thing we call life?

JaeEun was only seven to really understand everything in this world but she did understand that her mother's behavior towards her wasn't normal. She was constantly being told that it was her fault for ruining her mother's life and career by existing. Every little thing JaeEun worked hard for in school to make her mother proud and gain her approval never came out as planned. In the end, her mother would only glare at her and yell as she poured some of that liquid in a glass. This only caused JaeEun to stop caring about school all together and led to her grades to start dropping.

She just wanted to know what was wrong with her. What did she need to fix to finally make her mother happy to have her around? After all, children are supposed to be parents' happy pill, right?

Jaeun was so deep in her thinking she hadn't noticed the boy standing in front of her. They both stared at each other for quite some time before the boy spoke out first.
"Are you going to use the swing?" the boy with chubby cheeks said. Jaeun remained staring at the boy ignoring what was even being asked.
"I see you only sitting here and the other swings are being used. I just wanted a turn before I have to go home," he kept talking as he realized the girl would not answer him.  "It's ok if you don't want to share. I just wanted to ask."

The little girl looked down again and tears starting forming in her eyes. It was the first time someone would come up to talk to her at the playground but sadly it was only to get her to move out of his way. Just like her mother does at home. Just like the kids at school do when she doesn't walk fast enough. No one cared about her except for when they wanted her out of their way, or so she thought. As she started getting up from the swing the boy saw the tears running down her cheeks.

The little boy wasn't sure what to do but one thing he was sure about was that it wouldn't feel right if he didn't try to comfort this girl. So as she was walking past him the first thing he did was to gently touch her shoulder. To this, Jaeun slightly turned her head towards him and before she could ask anything all this boy did was pull the crying girl into his arms.

They both stood there until the boy was sure Jaeun had stopped crying. He gently wiped away her tears with his sleeves and smiled at her.
"I'm sorry if I made you cry for wanting to take away your swing. My name is Jungkook," he said as he flashed his cute bunny smile.

My name is Jungkook," he said as he flashed his cute bunny smile

Jaeun responded with a slight smile of her own. To be honest she felt like she couldn't remember how to smile if she wanted to do so correctly.
"Jungkook," she said quietly and thoughtfully. "I will call you Kookie!"
Jungkook only nodded in agreement seeing that the girl finally said something since their encounter.
"I'm JaeEun," she finally introduced herself.

"Well, Jaeun, you can have your swing. I have to go home now but I will come here to play tomorrow. We can play together if you're here too!"
Jaeun's sad expression came back but nodded anyways knowing well she couldn't do anything to get him to stay longer. She was afraid he wouldn't come back. Mostly, she was afraid he would come back but wouldn't pay attention her just like the other kids always did. She didn't have much hope but she sure was happy to have met this boy with the cute bunny smile.

She sat back on her swing as Jungkook waved goodbye and walked away. Jaeun silently sat looking down, as she was before, and thought that tonight she would wish extra hard up to the stars so she can finally have a friend.

Apparently the best time to write for me is in the middle of the night since that's when I wrote this.
But anyways!!! How cute was Jungkook's and JaeEun's little encounter??
I thought you'd like to know how they met so there you have it. Maybe this won't be the only time we see child Jungkook and Jaeun. We shall see~
