He watched in the distance as she bathed in her beauty as she was oblivious to her surroundings. What a naive little girl she was, but that is why he had to keep a close eye on her. Since the day she was born he watched her, he found her. She was his.
Her beautiful hairless legs stepped out of the small lake, the man clenched at the sight of her. His pants tighten to the glance he had of her. He wanted her, but yet could not dare get close, he was scared.
"O beautiful sky, o golden sun, kiss my cheeks and bless me like you have every day." She spun in her nakedness, she was carefree and did not worry. She giggled as if life was the best thing when in actuality it was not.
She was an orphan, she had no parents, no family, no backstory.
He tried to stay hopeful, wait for her, but she took too long, didn't grace the earth until he turned the age of 525. He waited, searched, and prayed for her appearance, but she never came.
He feared she would be dead before he got to her. War was a constant event occurring in the world, and he feared her getting caught in the crossfire. Though the day she was born was one he would never forget.
She slipped on her undergarments followed by her gown. She ran through the forest, letting the wind bite her face as the cold air nipped her skin. Her youthful ways made the man crack a smile no one has seen.
She reached the small cottage, "Grandmother?"
The dear old woman stole her away from the orphanage when she saw the radiant beauty get bullied for being too nice. It was what she was known for. The man didn't need her. He needed someone strong, someone, who could fight and protect his kingdom.
He watched the interaction in the small house. "Oh dear how was your day?"
"It was wonderful. Any news of the King?" His heart raced every time she brought him up, he hated that. He loved her deeply and hated it, she affected him, and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't stop loving her.
"Yes, he is marrying the Old Dutch King's daughter. They call her fair and shy, but a warrior at heart, stories say that she would sneak into wars just to fight and kill just to keep the lust of blood on her hand down." The girl awed. "She is a perfect queen, hopefully, she will make the king happy. He deserves her, he does so much for his people. I'm glad he is marrying."
His heart tugged at her words he didn't want that reaction, he wanted her to feel jealous and betrayed, just another flaw she has. Could he even call it one? He needed excuses not to love the tender-hearted girl, he could not come up with one.
"How could you say that Ophelia he does nothing for us but ruin us, he haunts for his next prey every night, looking for victims to trap and feast on at night. Take ladies from their sleeping chambers and not let them return." The man clenched, he hated that woman for filling her head with thoughts she could not comprehend.
She was right but they were out of context. He waited for the ladies to fall asleep, for his little Ophelia was easy to control, he could control her dreams and make her fall into a deeper sleep so he could touch her silken skin, kiss her soft lustrous lips, take in her sweet scent.
He entered her dreams every night, tonight would be no different.
"Oh my love you have come to visit me again, I missed you in the day, I wish you could be real, for what we have is magical and if others would see, would think we are casting forth a lie, but what we have is real. I love you." She hugged him tightly not wanting to leave his embrace.
"Ophelia, stop saying these silly things, for I am real and have told you many times, we will one day meet and you will be mine, as I am yours. We will bind our love in marriage and bear children together. Live in serenity and in an oasis of love." The man said to her, in her dreams he would speak of when they will eventually meet when they will become lovers and love forever.
