"Hey, Vic, it's been three weeks since Danielle," I started. "Three weeks since I became, well, you. We're all still recovering but Mike is taking it the hardest. He's your brother, what could I expect. Damn it, Vic what would you do? I'm still recovering, the fans are still recovering, we're all lost. What do I do when we get back out there?" Tears were rolling down my cheek. "You taught me every song, how to get the crowd ramped up for us, but you said that you didn't need to teach me how to lead a band. What did you mean? I can't just magically know how to lead Pierce The Veil, this is your band. I know you would say it's my band too, but it will always be your band. I now just muster up enough courage to see you, and all I have is questions."

I got up off the grass and dusted off my skinny jeans, my eyes were still locked on a stone anyone hated to see.

"You gave this to me on my first show," I put a guitar pick on Vic's grave.

To anyone who didn't understand it was just a pick, but is was more. It was white with the SD symbol in navy and beige, our home team. I smiled thinking about the time when we all went with our girlfriend to a Padres game over in Petco Park. We drank our asses off after we won the game and then just stayed in a hotel. All the times we would watch football over at Mike's house and the fights we would have whenever San Diego played Cincinnati.

My first time playing in public was Warped Tour when they stopped here at home in SD. Vic felt we should play our show for our city. Tony handed us the set list and Jaime gave us our ear pieces. Vic went on stage and told everyone about us. Right as we were going out, he handed my that very guitar pick, my lucky pick, and we played that show like no one had ever seen before.

"For I pass it on so it can be yours on your last show."
