Finding Love

"Natalie, hurry up!" My best friend Jessica yelled out to me from our living room. 

"Okay okay I'm coming!" I yelled back, quickly taking a sip of water before meeting Jess in the living room. It was my favourite time of the week, time for us to record our weekly youtube video! I smiled to myself as I remembered the very first time we ever made a video. Jess and I were roommates and best friends and a couple months ago she came home early one day from work and heard me belting out Chandelier in the shower. She thought I sounded amazing and basically kept bugging me until I agreed to start making youtube videos with her. I mean I thought I sounded okay when I sang, but I didn't think I was that good. Anyway we started a youtube channel where we record vlogs of our adventures and every week we upload cover videos. When we started I honestly thought we wouldn't get any views but to my surprise our channel really took off and within a month we had almost 1 million subscribers. We honestly had the best fans in the world! 

I sat down in front of the camera as Jess made sure it was in focus before joining me with her guitar. 

"You ready?" She asked and I nodded. We spent about 2 hours trying to get the perfect take of over cover of Ed Sheeran's Shape of You. When we were finally happy, Jess quickly edited the video together and we quickly uploaded the video. I sighed a long sigh of relief, sometimes making videos stressed me out but I really loved it. I really just loved singing and being able to share that with other people was awesome. I was so thankful Jess encouraged me to do this with her. 

"Well I'm going to Dave's house for a bit, ill be home later babe." I smiled, the image of Jess and her boyfriend Dave made my heart melt. They were literally couple goals. 

"Have fun!" I replied enthusiastically and raised my eyebrows at Jess. She laughed as she walked out the door. 

Well here I was again, alone on a Friday night. I quickly popped into my room and changed into my pyjamas. I tied my hair back into a messy bun and went into the lounge room to watch some Netflix. I sighed to myself as I thought of Jess and how happy she would be at this very moment  with her boyfriend while I was sitting alone in the dark in our lounge room watching sappy movies. I wanted what she had. I wanted someone I could call mine. Don't get me wrong its not like I haven't gotten myself out there and tried, trust me I've even been on some blind dates. But everyone I seem to meet is either really douchey, stuck up or only want to talk to me because I'm 'famous.' Its so hard to find a decent guy in LA.

*ding* My thoughts were interrupted by a notification on my phone. We had only posted the video less than 2 hours ago and it had already gotten more than three thousand comments. I smiled to myself, another thing I loved about making videos is that it made me feel like I wasn't alone. I opened up youtube to check out some of the comments, at least reading them would make me feel better. As I scrolled through the comments my heart skipped a beat.

I scrolled for what felt like ages and there were so many comments calling for a video with Alex and I. My stomach started doing butterflies at the thought of even meeting Alex. He was such a cool guy and I really loved his videos. And then there was his voice oh my god don't even get me started on his voice! I shook my head and laughed to myself. What was I even thinking? As if Alex Aiono is going to see these notifications. I bet he's so famous that he has someone else to look through his comments and notifications. I love my fans for trying but I doubt he will even see any of my videos. I turned off my tv and went to bed, breaking out in a sweat any time I thought about a collaboration with Alex.

"Nat! Wake Up!" I was awoken by Jess shaking me violently. It had been four days since we had posted our Ed Sheeran cover and the comments were still coming in. 

"What the- whats wrong!?" I practically jumped out of my bed ready for anything. 

"LOOK!" Jess screeched, handing me her phone. I grabbed her phone hesitantly, Jess knows how much I love sleep, she never wakes me up unless its a real emergency. I looked down at the screen to see that she was on Alex's youtube channel and he had posted a new video. 

"Huh?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at her. 

"Babe just watch it!" She exclaimed, a smile beaming from ear to ear. She was practically bursting waiting for me to click play. I pressed play on the video and Alex's smiling face appeared on the screen.

Alex: Hey guys I know I normally just get straight into my music but this week I have been overwhelmed with notifications asking me to check out this channel. At first I was like yeah right what is this? But the comments kept on coming and I thought damn this girl must be legit to have this much support so I went and watched some of her videos. And I gotta say guys, she is amazing! So Natalie, if your'e watching this please hit me up I think your'e really dope and would love to collab with you.

I sat there frozen. Was that real? Did Alex Aiono just say my name!? What the hell! I turned to Jess who was still beaming from ear to ear. 

"WOOOOOOOO" We both screamed as we jumped up on my bed and started jumping around like crazy people. I pulled my phone out of my pocked and sent a DM to Alex. Is this really happening?!
