Natalie's life completely changes when her videos get noticed by a famous youtuber. Will she find fame? Or will she be lucky enough to find something else?
It had been just over a week since I visited Alex's studio. Dave was out of hospital and doing well. He was in a serious car accident and suffered several broken bones and Jess had been staying at his house to help him recover. That was alright though because I didn't even feel lonely at home anymore because Ethan and I were pretty much texting every minute of the day. I walked over to my mirror to check myself out before I left. I was wearing skinny jeans with a denim jacket and my white converse. I added a scarf as a finish touch to my outfit and was ready to go. I hopped in my car and drove to Alex's studio. I was so excited, I really wanted to get this video done. Working with Alex was amazing he was so creative. We had also been texting and talking about what song we should do and then Alex came up with this awesome idea to cover as many songs as we could over the beat of Bruno Mars' 24K Magic.

Alex buzzed me up and I made my way up the stairs into his studio. As I was walking up the stairs I heard a loud, familiar laugh. It was Grayson's, of course the twins were here. I felt my stomach do a triple backflip at the thought of seeing Ethan again. I reached the top of the stairs as all three guys looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back, walking over and placing my bag on a chair.
"Hey guys, whats up." I said casually.
"I'm sorry Natalie, they just barged in." Alex said rolling his eyes.
Ethan looked up at me with his big brown eyes, "We just had to hear you sing Nat." He said with a cheeky grin on his face. My stomach did a triple backflip hearing Ethan call me Nat. I threw my head back in defeat and laughed to myself.
"Well shit, no pressure now hey?" I said as I walked over to Alex who was standing behind a microphone.
"But for real guys, we need to record this today so please no goofing around." Alex said, walking over to stand in front of the twins who had taken a seat on the couch facing the microphone. The twins both looked up at him with the same look on their faces. You know the look you give your parents when they're lecturing you about something you obviously already know. I couldn't help but smile at how cute they both looked.
Alex finished his speech and walked over to me, "Don't worry, just pretend they aren't even here." He whispered to me as I grabbed my headphones and put them on my head. I smiled and gave Alex the thumbs up as he pressed play on the track and we began recording.
A while later we were finally happy with our work and had finished recording. We packed up the microphones and Alex saved the recording to his USB drive. Now all that was left was to record the video, but we were going to do that another day. I watched as Ethan stared at me with wonderment as we walked over and joined the twins on the couch. His stare was so intense it was like he was looking into my soul. I smiled at him and his lips started to turn upwards into the cutest smile I had ever seen in my life. It reached all the way up into his big hazel eyes which now had a sparkle in them.
"Sooo.. That was amazing you guys!" Grayson perked up, breaking Ethan and I out of the trance we were in.
"I know, how good is Natalie! I cant wait to record the video, this is gonna be biiiiig!" Alex chirped in.
"Thanks guys." I laughed, these guys were awesome, they were so supportive. I looked across at Alex just in time to catch him giving a shifty look to Grayson. What were these two up to?
"Hey Gray, can you help me move some equipment out the back? Its pretty heavy." Alex asked in a sly tone. For a second Grayson sat there, a confused look on his face until his face lit up as he realised what was going on.
"Sure buddy!" He perked up, glancing between Ethan and I with the cheekiest grin on his face. Oh my gosh these guys were so obvious. I watched as they walked towards the door for the storage area of the studio. Alex turned to face me and gave me a small wink before disappearing behind the door. I quickly glanced across to Ethan to see if he had caught on to what was happening, he was just sitting there oblivious. I laughed to myself, this was Alex's plan all along, to get Ethan and I alone together. Oh shit! Ethan and I were alone together, my palms instantly became really sweaty as I realised this was the first time we were alone together.
There was about two minutes of awkward silence as Ethan shifted uncomfortably in his chair before breaking the silence. "Nat," my insides melted when he called me that and I tried to keep it together, "how do you not have a record deal already you are actually amazing?" He sat forward in his seat so he was closer to me. I could instantly feel the deep shade of red creeping across my face as I brushed a stray strand of hair back behind my ear.
"I dont know, I guess i'm kind of shy." I laughed awkwardly.
"Theres no need to be shy, your'e beautiful!" Ethan replied with his deep voice, "And i'm not just talking about your singing." He winked at me and laughed with a deep chuckle. Holy shit, nope! This is legit how I die! My heart cannot handle this god like man flirting with me.
I quickly composed myself before I made it weird. I looked back at him with one of my eyebrows raised, "I bet you say that to every girl." I joked back, playfully pushing him on the arm. Holy crap it was solid. Is this guy made out of anything else besides muscle.
"Okay you caught me." Ethan looked down in his lap in defeat. I tried to hide the disappointment from my face. Of course he was a ladies man, I mean look at him! What else did I expect? I rolled my eyes at him as Ethan started to laugh again, "I said the exact same thing to Alex when I heard him sing too." He said back playfully, pushing me back in the arm. I couldn't help but laugh, he was such a goof.
"You're an idiot." I laughed back.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and took it out to see the twitter notification. I checked the time quickly before putting my phone back into my pocket. Shit it was already 4pm. Damn I had spent the whole day here. I need to get back to Jess and help her clean our apartment. I looked up at Ethan who was staring at me intently, something about his stare made you lock into his hazel brown eyes. "Hey I'm sorry its getting late, I've got to get home." I said with a weak smile as I watched Ethan's face sink.
"Okay but wait before you go, what are you doing this weekend?" Ethan asked, the sparkle appearing back in his eyes.
"Oh you know I should check my schedule I'm a pretty busy woman.." I trailed off pretending to get my phone out of my pocket.
"Oh" Ethan exclaimed as his face sunk once again.
I laughed "Im joking, probably the same as every week, watching netflix in my pyjamas."
Ethan's face lit up as he let out a loud chuckle before looking at me dead in the eye. "You should come to our party this Satuday!" He said excitedly. I looked around the room awkwardly, was I ready for a party? I was still a pretty shy person. "Please, it will be awesome and Alex will be there too."
It made me laugh that he was trying to convince me. As if I needed convincing to go to a Dolan Twins party. "Okay fine." I replied, trying not to sound too keen.
"Yes I cant wait!" Ethan burst out, making me laugh.
"See you on Saturday, say bye to Alex and Gray for me. I said as I stood up to leave.
Ethan stood up next to me, "Bye Nat," my heart melted again, was I ever going to get used to him calling me that? He walked towards me holding his arms out for a hug. I smiled and met his embrace, sliding my arms around his body and resting my head on his chest. Holy shit, he smelt amazing. I could feel the rise and fall of his chest as he calmly breathed. He rubbed my back as we stayed there for probably a little too long until I broke the embrace and smiled up at him before grabbing my bag and walking down the stairs and out to my car.
What the hell was that? How is it even possible that someone I've only met a few weeks ago can have this effect on me?
