ACT 1 SCENE 1
*A long and winding road, surrounded by tall and mostly deceased trees going uphill. Dead leaves cover the sides of the scrawny street that barely supports two lanes. Twin brothers by the names of Dorian and Joshua with book bags, baggy uniform shirts and expensive shoes walk upwards from school. The sun shines through the trees as the boys walk along the side of the road to avoid the occasional car. The hill steepens. The wind bites at their necks.*
Dorian scoffs
"But the problem with them is like, niggas wanna stay niggas, and it's, like, cool. It's idolized. If somebody wanted to step outside of the mold that was laid for them, then everybody looks at em like, 'oh, what are doing, fuck outta here' or whatever."
*Car passes, Joshua looks up from phone and gives driver the middle finger*
Dorian continues
"Even outside of our peers and shit, like your parents. My parents. That whole generation steady rapping' about us and how distorted our values are but look at them. Old people can be just as blind and close minded as we can, if not MORE."
Joshua interjects, while looking at phone
"Seth wants to know if we tryna spark."
Dorian
"Ya know I don't smoke."
Joshua
"Hip, but it's like, smoking courtesy or whatever to ask."
Dorian
"True."
*A large tree branch falls before Dorian and Joshua, revealing a birds nest in which a baby bird has fallen to the ground. It is alive, barely.*
Dorian and Joshua simultaneously
"Damn."
*They step over the branch and bird continuing to walk upwards. The bird's chirps fade.*
