Annabeth POV
Percy and I had fallen into a pattern of sleeping with each other in secret, but I think Chiron is catching on.
Oh well, it's worth it. I mean, c'mon, it's Chiron. What's he going to do? Softly instruct me to go to my own cabin? Ooh, scary.
I still had nightmares occasionally, but none as bad as the one I had that night. But Percy is always there to hold me and comfort me, and I couldn't be more grateful.
Today was an off day, like a weekend for mortal schools. Currently I am working on some blueprints with my, well, brother, Malcolm. We like to rebuild cities from scratch with each other, creating our own fantasies.
I took my compass and drew a series of circles, and Malcolm laughed at me and told me I stuck my tongue out when I concentrate. I slapped his arm and he just put his hands up in surrender.
We work well together, the gears in our minds turn the same way and we work in synchrony with each other. Malcolm calculates the measures of buildings, and I sketch them out. We rarely argue about what should go where. It's really nice to have an actually intellectual partner. I have experience with dim-witted partners, such as, ahem, Percy.
The boy's sweet and all, but sometimes I think his brain shorts out. He does have his smart moments, but all the same, my boyfriend is a bit dull.
I get giddy everytime I call Percy my boyfriend, and I don't know why it still happens. I mean we've been dating for, what, five? Six months? I just can't help but have a butterfly rave party in my stomach everytime.
Percy makes me giggle. Giggle. Giggle. I know that I make my mother go insane. She talks enough about my "sea scum" boyfriend for me to know how she feels about our relationship.
As if Percy knew I was thinking about him he burst into the cabin. "Annabeth!" he sung, and then stopped. "Gah! Blueprints. Should I leave?" He motioned to the door.
"No, no. What is it, Perce?" I asked, looking at my work again.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go train?"
"Well," I said, looking longingly at my carefully marked architectural designs, then sighed, "yes. Yes I would love to."
I smiled at him and grasped his outstretched hand and we walked out the door. "Work with you later, Malcolm!" I called over my shoulder.
"Yep, sure," was his faded response. He didn't believe I'd be back until curfew, which, ulitmately, he was right. I knew I would end up spending the rest of the day with Percy.
As we walked to the training arena Percy swung our arms back and forth, and back and forth. And back and forth. He pulled on my hand, rushing me on, and then he started to sing a tune from The Wizard of Oz.
"We're off to see the wizard! The wonderful wizard of Oz!" he yelled out, and began to skip.
"Peeercy," I groaned, stretching out the 'e', "why are you going so fast?"
"Why aren't you my dear?" he asked me in a horrendously fake formal tone. "It's a great day to be alive!" He breathed in heavily, closing his eyes, and then revealing the green I so loved once again.
"You're so weird," I said, rolling my eyes.
"But you love me!" he yelled, and grinned goofily at me.
"Surprisingly, yes." I smiled at my boyfriend.
He kissed my cheek. "And I love you." I felt my heart melt like candle wax.
We walked into the training arena and I unsheathed my dagger and Percy uncapped Riptide. I grabbed a shield. The arena was nearly empty, with the exception of an Ares girl viciously stabbing at a dummy.
We got in a ready position, and there was an unspoken agreement as to when to start. We went into a heated combat. He'd strike, and I'd parry his blade. I would stab, and he would dodge and stab in one swift motion. I would never tell him this, it would just increase the size of his head, but his battle skills always leave me in awe.
After a couple rounds of blade-to-blade, we decided to go weaponless. Basically we'd be wrestling. I knew that Percy would beat me, but still, it's good practice.
We looked each other in the eye, and it began. We went head-to-head, and it was decently matched. Eventually Percy had me pinned to the floor, and he had his elbows on both sides of my head, supporting some of his weight. "You're beautiful," he said, and moved a strand of hair from my face.
I blushed and said, "Shut up Seaweed Brain."
"I love you, Wise Girl." He bent his head down and kissed me. Our lips moved together, and I had a brilliant idea.
I caught Percy by doing an arm chop and then I flipped us so I was pinning him.
"Hey! Unfair!" he yelled defiantly.
"Hm... Nope I think there's no rule that says I can't win," I said and smirked at his face.
"Bully," he pouted. "No more kisses for you."
"Hm we'll see about that," I said back, sneaking a peck to his lips.
"EW," Percy said, and wiped off his lips onto his hand, and then transferred it to my t-shirt.
"You're so dumb sometimes, you know that?"
He grinned, "I know."
I stood up and helped him up, and we put away our respectable weapons.
"Annie," Percy sung out.
"Don't call me that," I said severely, and gave him a death glare.
"Fine. Annabeth my lovely girlfriend, is that better?" I nodded. He laughed.
"I have a little surprise for you," he smiled a suspicious smirk at me.
"Do you?"
"Yep! Now hurry up! It's waiting for us!" He tugged my arm and we began sprinting. I couldn't help but laugh.
