.......
What?
......
Where am I?....... What is this place?
Thoughts of confusion continued to haunt me as I kept desperately trying to make sense of the situation.
What am I doing here?...
I look up towards the bright light that was glaring down on me, my eyes squinted as I made out the figure of a person standing before me.
Immediately, I question the hidden figure.
"Who are you? What am I doing here? What are you doing here?" I demand, the need for answers in my voice is unmistakable.
I look around the room to try to figure out what sort of place I was located but, before I could get any more clues as to my location, the person talks. No, SHE talks. It's a woman.
"Finally awake now are we Alice? Well, everyone's got to wake up sometime I guess," I can hear her strong Russian accent as she speaks.
Her eyes are staring directly into mine as she holds out her hand.
Does she really expect that I'll take it?
I slap her hand away as I climb out of the bed.
"I don't need your help, I can get out of a bed by myself," I huff at her.
She simply smiles at me, an evil sort of smile. The kind where you don't reveal your teeth.
Am I just a game to her?
She looks down at me from her intimidating height, and continues to smile.
"Come now little Alice, follow me," she says as she starts walking in the other direction.
"Where are, we going?" I ask the lady as I run after her.
With her thick Russian accent rolling off of her tongue, she says, "Oh, nowhere in particular. Just to introduce you to a person you'll be spending ALOT of time with."
What?
I look at her with confusion as she leads me down the long, white corridor.
She ignores me as she navigates us through the maze of hallways.
There are no windows, only rows upon rows of bright lights.
Every so often, one of them flickers, sending shivers down my spine.
I listen to every loud step she takes as she strides down this long, lonely path.
'Clank, clank, clank'
It's too quiet here....
Where are all the people?
After what feels like forever, we finally reach the room.
A large wooden door greets us with its presence.
Is this it? Is this where she was taking me?
As she slowly inches the door open, a sea of warm light floods into view and smothers itself all over my frail body.
Its warmth feels nice.
I close my eyes and I let the warmth of the light relax and soothe me as I walk into the cosy room.
It's got a nice homey kind of feel about it.
I look around at my new surroundings, it's so lovely.
The light shines down from large windows located on the side of the room and heats up the wooden floorboards, the wall to my left is stylishly decorated with beautiful, medium sized, paintings of flowers, the slight breeze clips my hair as it occasionally goes by, the sound of birds chirping in the background calms my rapidly beating heart and to complete the mood, the scent of vanilla wafts through the air.
............
It truly is a totally different world from the one I came from...
