Selenas Pov:

I put down my phone, jumping up to put my jacket on. I grab it, sliding it into my back pocket, trying not to break it's fragile screen. I translate into the kitchen, reaching into the cabinet to get my pancake and waffle mix. I stir up the batter, pouring the goopy liquid into the steamy waffle maker. I make some bacon, grease popping on me occasionally. "Damnit!" I yelled, the grease popping on my face. I grab the waffles and translate them onto the plate, trying not to drop them to the vicious animals, which I call my dogs.

After breakfast, I clean up the table, heading out to the hiking spot. I check my phone once more to see if Max had sent anything. Still nothing. I sighed and locked my car, getting out and trying to find Justin. "Justin?" I shouted out. Nothing. "Juuuuussttinnnn!" My voice rang out into the silent air. I about gave up until I felt myself being lifted into the air. "Gotcha!" He chuckled, throwing me over his shoulder.
"Goddamnit Justin! You scared the living shit out of me!" I exclaimed, trying to ease out my breathing.
"Aw, sorry love, I didn't mean to scare you" Justin said, putting me down onto the hard ground. "Now, let's go hiking!" He smiled, grabbing his bag and leading out into the quiet forest. He looked so happy, so radiant. Like nothing in this world can make him sad. Nothing. I giggled to myself, watching him dance while he was walking, making a fool of himself. I looked around and noticed something was missing. Cat. I waited until we got to where we was resting, not sure if she was already there.

Justin insisted on taking a right turn instead of a left, even though the map clearly stated left, making us lost. I started panicking, trying to find a way out of the dark timbers. I tried to calm Justin down but he just went full on crazy.
"I can't be here, my baby is at home and if I can't get back to her....AHH!" He worried. My heart sank. "My baby" rang in my head over and over again. Jealousy shot over me and I lost it.
"Well, maybe if you wouldn't stop freaking out maybe we could be out" I shot out.
"Then why don't you find a way out?" He shot back, biting on his already short nails. I huffed, trying to find a way out from the bushes, the trees, even the damn water. Then I figured it out.
"Cmon" I demanded, pulling on his arm, making our way out of the forest. "There. Now you can go home to her." I looked up at him, hugging him goodbye.
"Okay, talk to you later, thanks for getting me out I guess." He waved goodbye as I pulled out from the parking lot, I raced home and took a shower, changing into my nightly clothes. I slipped into bed, putting the sheets over me. Right when I was dazing off, I heard a sharp ding coming from my nightstand. Notification. I grabbed my phone and pressed the power button, turning the dark screen into the luminous hell that burned my eyes. I skimmed through my messages, shaking my head at one. Hell no.
