Elaine looked up from her book. The twins had eaten, mum and dad had had coffee and Stacy was flirting with the brown eyed girl, with whom she had become great friends with in two hours.
Mum plucked up the courage to look out of the window. They were passing some beautiful mountains, covered with pure white snow. A small airport stood in the valley. It was so astonishing, mum had to do a double take. But not because of the beauty - this was not where they were meant to be going.
She tapped dad on the shoulder. 'Honey, take a look at this.'
Dad peered out of the nearest window to him. 'That's weird. I thought we were going on a beach holiday.'
'So did I,' mum responded.
The plane landed surprisingly softly and people started piling out. Elaine stood quietly with her family in front of the airport.
Stacy shivered in the falling snow.
Finally mum sighed. 'Why do we ever leave the house?'
