“Where should I put my things?”

He moved an inch and he was once again already by my side, snatching my duffel bag from my wobbly hands. I had not imagined him to be the gentleman type, just the originally typical hushed bloke.

“Follow me.”  He threw me a mellifluous smile; his molten bluish-grey eyes were enticing. “Would you like to stay in my room with me or stay in my room with me?”

An incredulous scoff came from my dainty lips. “Like a have choice.”

“You do. You can throw me off the window...” He conjured. “You know... if you can.”

His intrepid suggestion gave away an idea to me. We had come up to his floating staircase, and as I explore deeper into his home, the more I get fascinated by his remarkably incredible abode.

There wasn’t exactly a second or third level. It was a glass barndominium high enough for three levels. Three fourths of the main walls were made of glass, while the left quarter was a white solid one and an enticing deck sat proudly by it.

Inside the humble home of the arrogant owner was just simple... contemporary, oblivious to the fact that he was a creature from the bygones.

Everything that you could see in a modern furniture shop, name it, and you’ll find it here. Be it the twisted wall book shelf or the hanging staircase or even the Murphy couch and desk. It’s all here. Almost making me earn sympathy for the people this devil had mercilessly compelled to put him in their payroll.

His bedroom; the only bedroom in the house, was literally attached to one of the upper corners of the residence. Like the rest of the house, its walls were also see-through and glass. The staircase fastened to the solid wall that led up and left then continued to his room.

It was a shame I didn’t take my surroundings the first time I was here, which was merely yesterday.

“You take contemporary way too seriously.” I broke the silence the moment we got into the room.

The lake spread extensive through the glass wall, the night sky accompanied by the shimmering stars gracefully reflected upon the calm surface, causing me to just simply and involuntarily mutter, “Wow.”

          “Hmm, yeah.”

I felt his presence behind me.

“How can you be so cruel and abusive when you have this?” I asked, slowly taking in the mesmerizing scene before me. “When you see this?”
