Chapter 12

Dipper's P.O.V

I'm still wrapped up in worry about Olivia's catatonic episode when I hear a high- pitched scream come from upstairs, followed by thumping and crashing, as if a struggle is happening.

"Mabel come on!" I yell, running up the stairs with Mabel following behind.

The door to our bedroom is closed and I can hear glass shattering and more screams coming from inside. Wasting no time, I grab the door handle and violently thrust open the door, but find nothing other than a broken window, glass on the floor, and our dressers lying flipped over on the ground.

"NO!" I yell, putting my hands on my head and sinking to my knees, tears rolling down my face.

"Mabel, we have to do something! Oh this is all my fault! I never should have left her alone!" I say.

"Jack Frost. Hey, didn't Olivia used to date a guy named Jack Frost?" Says Mabel randomly.

"Yeah like last year. Mabel, what does that have to do with anything?" I reply.

"I think you should come look at this." She says.

I wipe the tears off my face and walk over to her, noticing she has a piece of paper in her hand. The paper has two words written hurriedly in Olivia's messy scrawl.

Jack Frost

"Of course!" I say, grabbing one of my thinking pens and beginning to pace the room. "It all makes sense now! The unseasonable snow, only here and nowhere else in town, Olivia's pure terror...... Mabel! She could be in danger- no scratch that- she IS in danger! We have to go save her."

"But how?! Jack Frost is magical! And immortal! We're just kids!" says Mabel.

"Exactly." I say, grabbing the journal off the floor, where it had landed when the nightstand was flipped.

"That's why we'e gonna need help, from someone even more magical, and equally as immortal." I say, flipping through the journal and stopping on the page I want.

Mabel gasps. "You don't mean-?" She doesn't finish her sentence.

I nod, pointing to the image on the page. "We need to summon Bill Cipher."

Mabel's eyes are wide when I look at her. "But- It says 'Do not summon at all costs'" she whispers.

"I know. But this is an emergency. Go downstairs and grab some candles and the lighter."

Mabel gulps, but does as I say.

Nothing is going to happen to my girlfriend. Not as long as I'm alive.
