Aria couldn't believe everything that was happening. She managed to get through a full set with eight songs, while Caleb worked on Tory, DJ AudiTory's computer. They were apparently close to finding a fix to get the vocals of the tracks back, so as she finished up singing Sorry Not Sorry by Naya Rivera she decided to give it her all. This is not me but I could pretend for a night.
She moved with the beat and sang like no one was watching or listening. For once, in what seemed like forever, Aria let go and had fun. As she heard the underlying beat of Justin Bieber's Sorry being mixed in and saw the thumbs up from Caleb, Aria knew they had fixed it. She watched as Stefan ran onto the stage to whisper something to Tory before heading towards her.
It's now or never, Stefan! He knew he had an in when Sophia Kate divulged that they had gone to No Limit. He had been a fan of the dance crew that started the camp for as long as he could remember. His grandmother believed that prayer and music were the ultimate remedies for the soul, so when they were younger she enrolled them in the YMCA dance classes.
They loved it, though Victor would never admit it. They couldn't afford No Limit classes, but Mrs. Battistelli's YMCA classes in salsa, rumba, tango, etc. would teach routines from the camp a semester later. Stefan hoped that his assumption was right and that Aria would know the moves from No Limit's summer session last year.
"Do you remember the bachata routine from last year's No Limit camp?" His whisper tickled her neck, but she was shocked at his question. Aria didn't peg Stefan as dancer. His build was larger in comparison to other male dancers she knew. "I didn't go that year, but I learned it online." Aria wasn't sure where he was going, but judging by his gestures he clearly wanted to dance. Yeah, right here – on stage! Oh my gosh he's serious!
As the beat dropped, Aria settled into her happy place and let Stefan lead her. Aria adjusted her hips to fit perfectly with his. Stefan's grip on her waist tightened and her eyelids fluttered closed as she sank into the blissful sensation of dancing.
His breath tickled her cheek and the vibration from his chest as he growled low made her tingle. It had been a long time since Aria had danced like this with a guy, a straight one at that. The way Stefan took charge was appealing and it didn't hurt that he was ridiculously handsome.
Stefan couldn't shake what he felt. In that moment, with their breaths commingling as his leg slide between hers, he felt happy. He shifted his hand to her lower back, fitting her more perfectly against him. This time it was her turn to give a more satisfied moan. We fit.
He couldn't deny the fact that it felt like someone lit his skin from the inside with firecrackers. A simple light caress or side long glance, or God help him, her gorgeous smile was almost enough to dissolve him into a pile of love struck dust. Aria moved like a goddess and Stefan knew in that moment that he was a goner.
Aria never thought a night like tonight could happen. She prided herself on being different. She was practical and responsible. Aria wasn't like all of the girls from back home with the boyfriends, drama, and love stories. She was the straight A student who worked to help support her family. Tonight was proving that she was a fish out of water, but it wasn't as terrible as she expected it to be.
He is too good looking for his own good. Aria thought truthfully. Stefan was tall, towering over her 5' 4" frame. His brown hair complimented his olive skin tone and his deep brown eyes. "You keep smiling and staring at me like that and I'm going to have to do something about it." Every time he whispered against her Aria felt a frightening yet welcome jolt in her body.
Caleb looked up towards the stage as Stefan and Aria danced. The muscle in his jaw worked overtime with each movement of Stefan's hands on her body. What is the big deal? You don't do relationships and she's not yours. The thought was rational, but he was in no mood for it. "Calm it down, tiger! You're going to pop a blood vessel." Gracia's words had a calming effect, but they didn't do much at the moment. "You like her." Gracia smiled from beside him. "No." He retorted the frustration bubbling out before he could contain it.
He was so sure that the chances of him actually enjoying himself in Austin were slim. After his mother dropped a series of summer bombshells the house was filled with tension 24/7. He didn't care to speak to her or Patrick. And while the twins were warming up to Parker, Caleb knew that was mostly because they wanted to give her a makeover.
He wanted to just do what was necessary and get back to California. He knew he'd just have to suck it up and spend the next few months in classrooms trying to decipher what his southern professors were saying. He never would've expected to meet people like Tyler, Preston and Gracia. They were surprisingly cool, although Gracia had added brownie points because she wasn't a Southerner.
The professors in the Business department seemed intelligent and had the professional experience to show for it. He would never admit to his mother that he liked his first day as a Texas U student or that he had met someone worth talking about like Aria. She was really smart and funny. He loved the way her smile was contagious and her laugh seemed to shake her entire body. You like her. He shook off the thought, but as he continued to clench and unclench his fist, Caleb knew it was a valid one.
The day was so busy with academic stuff that the bonfire party was a much-needed relief. Fires in forests weren't a big celebration in California, but everything seemed to be different in Texas. Everything was fine. The Four Horsemen, as Preston dubbed him, Gracia, Tyler and himself, were enjoying themselves. He was content on just hanging out with them before heading back to his dorm, but then he saw her.
Caleb wouldn't consider himself a player. He had friends that were and definitely hated how they treated women, more than likely because of Charlie and Claire. He dated a few girls throughout high school, but none of them were serious about him or he about them. He learned a lot about what he wanted by his past encounters, but mainly from what his parents didn't have.
He knew that he didn't want commitment or a relationship, but that didn't stop the jealousy from growing with each move Stefan and Aria made. This is the longest damn song in history!
"When the heck did Stefan learn how to dance like that?" JT asked stunned. Everyone watched as Aria spun in Stefan's arms. They danced as though no one was watching, but at that point the entire courtyard was staring. JT knew the look Stefan was sporting. He's such a sap! "That boy has moves," Faye spoke up as she and Olivia joined the group. "I just can't believe Aria! She literally is the queen of hidden talents." Daisy replied.
As the song faded out, Stefan held on to Aria longer than Caleb would have liked. He was finding it hard to remain calm. "Look at my baby finally getting her groove on!" Quincy snapped causing some of them to laugh.
"Apparently this is the last set before the lock-in." Tyler said with a yawn. He didn't realize how exhausted he was until he looked at the time. It was already passed two o'clock in the morning. He couldn't believe how late or rather how early it was.
