When the party started, everyone was dancing like maniacs. It was incredible and i wish i never would've stopped. Well..it did."Wanna take a walk with me?" Brayden yelled through the pounding sound of music.
"Yes please! I could really use a break from dancing," I answered. It was about 2 am and i'd been dancing for hours! My body hurt!
We walked along the sparkling blue ocean and the golden sand squished below our feet which helped my feet stop hurting. The stars looked magnificent that night. Each one brighter than the last. I didn't wanna admit it to myself, but it was like a scene from a cheesy romance film.
After we were far enough from the party that we could only here a muffle of music, Brayden grabbed my hand. Our fingers fit perfectly together and it was a magic moment for me.
"When you left, I never dated another girl," Brayden looked at me with a smile," I always had a feeling you'd be back, so I waited for you."
I felt my cheeks burn when he said that. He blushed quite a bit himself. He took both of my hands into his and pulled me close to him, so we were almost touching. His face was getting closer to mine. I thought he was going to kiss me.
Right as his lips almost reached mine, we jumped back from the sound of sirens.
"Oh no," was all I managed to say when I saw bright flashing lights the colors of red and blue near the party. I sprinted back to Cass and the party and Brayden was right behind me. When we got there everyone was gone and Cass was leaning against the cop car. She didn't look very good.
"What happened?" I asked Cass and leaned myself on the car next to her.
"Apparently you aren't supposed to drink at parties if you're younger than 21," she hiccuped and laughed. She must've been so drunk.
"Why the hell were you drinking?" I had no idea there was even alcohol at the party. All she did was a sloppy shrug.
"Ma'am I need you to call your parents to come pick you up unless you have a license," one of the cops grunted and held his hand out for an i.d.
"I-I don't have one," I mumbled.
"Alright. You have two minutes to call a parent or I will." I couldn't let my mom know I was at a party. She would never let me leave the house again!
"I'll take them," Brayden said with his i.d. out. The cop nodded and left without another word.
I wrapped Cass's arm around my shoulders and the three of us started walking to her car.
When we got to my house my mom was already asleep, but I knew there would be a lecture in the morning for being at past midnight.
Brayden helped me get Cass to the top of my porch and then walked home. I pulled her to my room and practically threw onto bed before heading to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
I put a note on the kitchen table, so my mom would know why Cassidy was here when she woke up.
Cass was already in a dead sleep by the time I got into bed. She was gonna have a hard time in school tomorrow.
**
At 7:00 am my alarm went off and I rolled out of bed. I headed for the bathroom connected to my room and saw Cassidy casually curling her hair and wearing a different outfit than she wore yesterday. I know it didn't come from my closet too.
"Where'd you get that outfit?" I asked through a yawn.
"My car, silly," she replied like it was the dumbest question ever.
