Lust finds the mortal world both fascinating and dull at the same time. It's changed a lot since she's last been here. The men no longer wear frilly collars and the women don't wear big, poofy skirts anymore.Instead, tight-fitting clothing is worn by the young humans, while the older ones stick to shapeless garments they call clothes. Lust finds this both disappointing and intriguing. She can't say she misses the old days, when humans didn't wear any clothing at all and resided in caves, but things were a bit simpler back then.
This era has its perks, however.
One of the perks being Carmen.
Carmen Sanchez is Hispanic, bisexual, and has an attitude. She's the flashing color in a world of grey tones. She's interesting where the rest of the world is boring. And Lust likes that about her.
She's currently in her old battered car, driving to New Orleans. The city is famous for its round-the-clock nightlife and delicious food. Carmen's mother had joked about living off of gumbo and shrimp once she got there and Carmen had given a half-hearted laugh. She'd refrained from telling her mother that it was a bit stereotypical to assume everybody there ate Cajun food.
The truth is, Carmen doesn't really care. She just wants to turn this car around and go back to her apartment in Rochester, New York. But she has an opportunity to get an education and she's not throwing it away because she's homesick.
Carmen's phone buzzes and she looks down at it quickly to see that it's a text from her mom. It says: 'If you're reading this and you're on the road, you'd better be glad I'm not there to smack you! Eyes on the road, estupido.' Lust finds this quirky girl and her family to be amusing and decides that she'll do as entertainment for a few years.
With a happy sigh, she nestles herself at the back of Carmen's mind, and the only noticeable reaction the girl has is a slight furrow of her eyebrows before she settles herself in her seat. Lust will make her presence known eventually, but for now, she's content with just sitting on the sidelines, so to speak.
Carmen arrives at her--their--new house in a few more hours, and starts school a week later in the middle of the semester. While Tulane isn't her dream university, it's certainly a decent one and she's happy. Lust is happy for another reason.
She's flitted through the place already and has noticed a slight boy--a bit scrawny-- who goes by the name Will. He's intriguing in his own way, and Lust feels that he has potential. Perhaps not for her, but for one of her brothers or sisters.
A few days later, she gets her answer. The boy, Will, is indeed claimed by a deadly sin. Anger, to be specific. Her instincts are good like that.
However, what confuses her is the reason he chose this kind little human to be his subject. Will seems to be devoid of any wrath so far, and his physique is nothing like the strong men Anger could've chosen instead.
Lust has more than enough reason to choose Carmen, who has everything going for her except an interesting life, which Lust can change. Speaking of which...Lust studies the quiet boy sitting with a few friends, his hands fiddling with his watch. What would happen if she led Carmen to Will?
Fun for everyone!
So that's exactly what she does. She can't outright control Carmen's limbs, but she can give her small pushes toward the boy. Under Lust's influence, Carmen notices Will on her first day there and decides that he looks the least judgemental out of her classmates. By chance, her teacher places her in the seat in front of Will and beside a jock with tousled hair and blinding white teeth who introduces himself as Bryce.
