I approach the tavern cautiously it looked quite suspicious I wasn't scared pirates are never scared but it looked... sketchy to say the least. As I walked through the door I glanced around to see only two people inside. One was seeming to mess with pottery while the other was behind the bar which made him I believe the owner. I glanced at the owner he was tall and round with a tight jean jacket and beneath that a black shirt he had black hair and a medium black beard his dark brown eyes I could tell were judging my appearance. I frowned why did everyone had to judge my piercings and tattoos? I walked up to a bar stool and sat down. I watched him judge me until he finally asked "What are you doing here kid?"

I snorted. "I am not a kid!"

He ignored my outburst and asked me the same question. "What are you doing here kid?"

I sighed, "I am here for directions do you know the fastest way to Gull Shore is I need to be there by morning."

He looked me up and down the said, "Believe me kid you do not want to go down Forbidden Road especially at night."

"So you do know how to get there? Please tell me the way and I will be out of your hair."

Then the guy in the corner spoke, "Forbidden Road holds horrible dangers for all who walk it."

I turned in my stool and walked to the man and asked him, "Do I look like someone who is easily scared by folk tales?"

He looked from my eyes to the table where there was a pot the seemed to be broken and I watched as he melted gold into the cracks. I watched with fascination until he finished and he pushed it to me. That is when I realized he had made a map the intricate gold lines led to my destination. I gazed with fascination at the detail that was made with broken pottery and gold. I looked back up at the boy that was only around twenty with amazement that is when I noticed his eyes were gold I didn't even see a pupil. "Yes I am blind but, never judge a book by its cover."

I gaped in amazement at his talent then I noticed hand. "That code. It is from Death bone's crew you are a pirate?"

He sighed, "I was but am now just trying to make a living."

"What made you give up the life?" My curiosity obvious in my blue eyes.

"Blindness. Nobody want a blind pirate."

I sat down across from him and slammed my hands on the tale. "Can you fight?" He nodded. "How about hoisting flags?" He nodded again. "Well bloody hell! Join me!. I am heading down to get my ship and my crew tonight I will gladly take you!"

"Why?" He looked into my eyes and I almost believed he wasn't blind.

"I need a trusted second mate and you need a captain who won't doubt your skill. Join me." I held out my hand.

His face turned thoughtful as he thought of what could go wrong then placed his hand in mine and we shook. I grinned from ear to ear. "Excellent!"

He smirked "You need someone to keep your ego in check anyways."

I laughed loudly, "most likely."

He kept the smirk on his face and stood. "Well let's go if you want to be there by dawn we need to leave immediately."

"Alright." I walked over to the bar again and bought some food for the trip and grabbed a beer. He started to argue but I stopped him "for the disrespect matey." He shut his mouth and frowned and I walked away. I walked out the door and glanced around to see the guy waiting for me. Then I realized, "Name's Victoria Everlost."
