Chapter 5-
"Hey Carter, I am on my way to your house." I say into my phone.
"Okay, I will have the guest room ready for ya!" Carter says a little to excitedly.
"Alright, be there in a few." I say before hanging up. "Chasing Pavements" comes on and I start to belt out the lyrics with my okay singing voice.
"I've made up my mind,
Don't need to think it over
If I'm wrong, I am right
Don't need to look no further,
This ain't lust
I know this is love
But if I tell the world
I'll never say enough
'cause it was not said to you
And that's exactly what I need to do
If I end up with you
Should I give up?
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place?
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up?
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
I build myself up
And fly around in circles
Waitin' as my heart drops
And my back begins to tingle
Finally, could this be it
Or should I give up?
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place?
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up?
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Should I give up?
Or should I just keep on chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place?
Should I leave it there?
Should I give up?
Or should I just keep on chasin' pavements?
Should I just keep on chasin' pavements?
Ohh oh
should I give up?
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place?
Should I leave it there?
should I give up?
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere?" I really like this song right now because I definitely feel like I am chasing pavements in my life.
As I pull into Carter's driveway I hear my phone ring, great a text from Bennett.
Bennett- Hey, do u wanna talk sometime?
Blair- No and quit texting me I DON'T want to you every!!!!
Bennett- Why? YOUR dad payed me to break it off with you
Blair- Stop texting me now
Bennett- But I wanna talk to you and now that we work together I will get that chance on Monday. See you then ;)
Blair- If you come anywhere near me or my office I will call the police
Bennett- You're bluffing.
Blair- Wanna bet?
Bennett- Sure, see ya on Monday.
I swear I have the most jacked up life in the universe. I am not in the right mindset to be dealing with this right now. When I get to the front door, I notice Ccarter is already standing there.
"How long have you been waiting there for?" I aske.
"Since you texted me." he says sheepishly.
"Thanks you are the best friend a guy could ask for!!!" Ii say giving him a big hug.
"No problem, do you want to talk about why you asked to spend the night at my house tonight." he asks me once we get into his house and walk to his kitchen.
"Honestly, no, maybe in the morning. I am just really tired and it was a long day of paperwork." I say while getting the ice-cream tube from his freezer.
"Okay," he says, "tomorrow it is but, for now, movie time!" he says rubbing his hands together like a madman.
