Chapter 4.
“Yes?” Trian answered quickly.
“I am sorry-“ Train quickly interrupted me and said “no! I am sorry, I shouldn’t have said that, it’s just so hard for me… you don’t know how hard.”
“Maybe if you tell me I would understand.”
“The problem is it’s a secret, and it’s not even my only secret, it’s other peoples secret too.”
“I never kept secrets from anyone.” I quoted him. He ignored and said.
“Yes, I can explain that, I used to hide a lot of secrets but since I quit acting, I promised to myself that I will never keep secrets from anyone except for this one because I am not allowed to say anything about it.”
“Not allowed?” I asked, shocked.
“Yes Selen, it’s more dangerous than you can think.”
What can be so dangerous that Trian doesn’t want to tell me for my own sake? Does he owe some money to a powerful person who is very dangerous? Is that why he quit acting? Was he a member of some kind of a gang who he is trying to leave but it has threat to his life? What ever the reason is, he is just trying to protect me and my family?
“okay Trian, when you are ready to tell me, I am here.” I smiled at him.
“THAT’S THE PROBLEM SELEN, I WANT TO TELL YOU,” he took a deep breath, shook his head then looked at me “ I don’t want to lie to you, I want to stay with you, and I want you to know what I really am.” He looked shocked as he said and I noticed that he said what I really am, not who I am; what is he?
“what I really am?” I asked.
“I… yeah, what I really am.” He looked at me with an unreadable expression.
“What do you mean by that?” I was completely confused.
“Selen, tomorrow, I will tell you tomorrow because it is something to show not to tell.”
“okay, but can’t you tell me now?” I was too curious to wait for tomorrow.
Trian looked at me thoughtfully then nodded and said “I can but, I am afraid that you won’t believe me.”
“try me.” I only said.
“well, fine. I will only ask you one question. What is the thing or the monster that feeds on blood?” what did he mean by that? Does he have to crack a joke before saying something serious?
“vampire.” I said.
He raised his hand, looked at himself, then looked at me with hopeful eyes.
“then? You mean, you are a vampire?”
“yeah.”
“okay Trian, seriously, tell me.”
“I think I just did.”
“are you serious?” he can’t really be.
“uhh…. Yeah.” His expression looked as if he was so disappointed.
“Okay…” I didn’t know what to say, I had to admit I believed him but I didn’t at the same time; don’t ask me how.
“you don’t believe me, do you?” Trian searched my eyes.
“you can’t possibly think that you might actually tell someone that you are a vampire and expect them to believe you right away.” I was right, wasn’t I?
“you’re right, I told you to wait until tomorrow but you couldn’t.”
“why did you tell me it is something to show not to tell?”
“because I knew you won’t believe me so I needed to get a prove, anything to feed on.” The word “feed” sent goose bumps all over my body.
“I think you can show me now, don’t you have anything called fangs?”
“yeah but I think it might scare you from me.”
“I don’t think seeing you hunt is better than seeing your fangs, I think I’ll take my chances and see your fangs first.”
“fine.” And without another word what I didn’t want to see, appeared right infront of me and I didn’t know what should my reaction be except for hanging my mouth ten floors down.
