The sun rose as the early morning sky started to fade from deep night sky to a cobalt blue, the sweet scent of pancakes floated through the Kastner home. "Ten! Wake up! You're going to be late for school!"
Heck first day of freshmen year, seeming he came of the last week of 8th grade last year. "Get dressed!"Tenebris grumbled in frustration, curling up in his soft, warm blankets. His dark, semi-medium hair drooping over his eyes, he was not excited for school at all; the only things he was excited for the Hockey season and Soccer.
"Tenebris get your ass downstairs!"
He sighed and heaved himself up "I'm coming!" He yelled back groggily, he trudged to his closet and picked whatever he saw first and slipped it on. He wore average dark blue jeans and a light blue long sleeve, he ruffled his hair a little making it slightly neater.
Footsteps sounded down the stairs as he turned to the kitchen to see-
A shirtless fatherViktor held a cigarette in his mouth as he struggled to make breakfast, he then threw it to the ash tray by the window sill, always smoke with the windows open or the house would smell.
"First day of freshman year kiddo" he set the plate of food on the table.
He mentally grimaced at the fact his father was shirtless but pushed it aside quickly, but to no avail he felt a little awkward "Yeah..." he replied as he sat at the dining room table in front of the food. "Something wrong?" He pulled on a shirt with a the local cross fit gym logo on it, it fit tight exposing his muscles as most his shirts did, the most embarrassing thing. "Nervous?" He questioned as he sat across from him. "You could call it that I guess...?" He lightly shrugged and started to dig in, the food wasn't really that bad, "It's alright, it's high school it's okay to be nervous" he smiled."Also! There's fall soccer tryouts, they travel around the state, look" he passed a form to him 'Salt Lake City High School Varsity Soccer' was what it read on the top "I was thinking of assistant coaching" Tenebris' expression lit up as he read the form, but dimmed slightly as he heard 'assistant coaching' "What? You were happy for like.. 3 seconds?" "Nothing, sorry" he cleared his throat "I'm interested in it" he read the information at the bottom of the form "It's uh.. one catch, tomorrow? Would that be okay?" "Yeah" he gave a small smile to Viktor, he didn't want to cause tension in the air or anything.
He then slipped out his phone and checked the time, he probably had 10 more minutes? The bus stop was by the house so it was a bit of a short walk. Viktor then went put his own plate in the sink, to be honest he never really ate much "Good, am I driving you today?" He looked back at Viktor "Nah... I kind of what to try the bus this time" he grabbed his backpack from the hook and rested the straps to his slim shoulders, "Oh... Alright" Tenebris looked at him "But.. you can drive me today if you want...?" "No it's fine, it's just because I normally drive you. Go catch the bus have a great day" Viktor gave a kind smile to him as Tenebris waved and went out the door, amd walked down the sidewalk. As he got closer and closer to the stop sign a little group of kids were there already.
