"Jaaaames," Thomas sang, two bowls of macaroni and cheese in his arms, "I found a new recipe! I added..." Thomas stopped when he entered the living room.
James was shivering on the couch, his face pale, "James!" Macaroni forgotten, Thomas raced to his friend. "Jemmy what's wrong?" "I...I think I'm sick Thomas." He stopped short, a coughing fit doubling him over. Thomas grabbed a blanket from the other side of the room and draped it over James. "You think it's a cold?" James shook his head, sniffling. "I know what a cold feels like. This is worse." That obviously worried Thomas. He furrowed his brow in concern. He grabbed his laptop and started researching. Darn.It was flu season.
"Do you have a headache?" "Oh yes," James answered, massaging his temples gently."Exhaustion? Dizziness? Aching?" "Yes, yes, and yes." Thomas lastly felt James' forehead, "Jimmy James, I believe you have the flu." James groaned. "Don't worry baby, I have some medicine."
In 30 seconds, Thomas returned with a few different pills and a glass of water, which James took gratefully.
"How 'bout we watch TV for a little while?" Thomas suggested. James nodded, and Thomas grabbed the remote, pulling James over to him and hugging him close.
"Thomas! I don't want you to get sick too!" James protested. "Shhh," Thomas comforted him, "the only thing that makes me sick is Alexander Hamilton." James giggled softly.
They watched Grey's Anatomy for awhile until Thomas noticed that James was doing his best to fight the medicine and stay awake.
"You need rest now Jimmy James."
Without another word, Thomas picked him up bridal style and carried his into their bedroom. "Tommy..." James drowsily protested.
Thomas, in return, wrapped James in the blanket like a sushi and kissed him lightly. "Sleep now baby. I'll still be here if you need anything." Grabbing his phone from the desk by their bed, he laid down beside James. James, in return, reached over and took his hand.In less than 2 minutes, James was asleep. Thomas chuckled softly and read some fanfiction. Thomas frowned as he remembered that he had left two bowls of mac and cheese sitting out, but forgot all about it when James squeezed his hand in his sleep.
Life wasn't so bad after all. Especially when you lived with a guy like James.
