Madison sat nervously, fidgeting with his suit. "Thomas I don't like this." Thomas looked at him. "Well ya look good if that helps," Thomas offered. "I'm not used to being so...formal." They sat in the back of the limousine that Thomas had rented for some...unknown reason.
"Remind me again why you rented a limo?" "Cause you deserve one," was all Thomas would say, all the while smiling secretly to himself in a way that made James kinda nervous.
"We're here!" Thomas announced. James looked out the window. They were parked in the lot of only the most fancy and expensive restaurant in New York City!
"We have reservations," Thomas said, tipping the driver. "What is this all about Thomas?" James pleaded. But Thomas held firm.
He grabbed James' arm and they walked in court style to the lobby. Well. This place was so fancy it even had a lobby.
"Reservation for Jefferson?" He said to the lady working behind the counter. "Yes sir, right this way." The two followed the woman to the back, where a private room awaited them. "Thank you ma'am." Thomas said. They sat down and she took their drink orders. James could barely get out his words he was in such shock. It wasn't his birthday! It wasn't Christmas...what was this?
Thomas watched him, eyebrows raised. "Sooo, you like it?" "Of course I like it Thomas..I love it. I just wish I knew why we are here." "All in due time," he said mysteriously.
The lady came back with their drinks, and they ordered their food, James trying to discreetly order the least expensive dish, but Thomas caught him and made him order something else.
After the dinner, Thomas, for once, was quiet. "Are you alright Tommy?" "Yea, I'm fine. Just spacing out I suppose." Thomas nervously laughed, and James knit his eyebrows. Thomas? Nervous? Being nervous was James' job!
Thomas seemed to be focusing on something behind James, so James turned as well to see what it was. There was nothing but a wall. Getting slightly frustrated with Thomas' antics, he turned back around, only to see Thomas Jefferson kneeling in front of him with a ring.
"James, my love forever...will you marry me?"
James sat in absolute shock for about 2 seconds as Thomas gazed up at him innocently and full of hope.
"Yes!! Oh my God yes!!" James slammed Thomas with a hug, and Thomas let out a happy and very relived laugh. He slid the ring on James' finger. "I love you James." "I love you too, Thomas."
