2013....
You & Zonnique are currently 16 and you was in your room currently texting her while your mama was downstairs trying to figure out a way to tell you some sad news.
"Yn! Can you come down here?! I need to tell you some news!" You stood up from your bed and slipped your phone in your pocket. You made your way down the stairs to see your mama sitting on he counter like this....
"What is it, ma?" You walked up to your mother with a worried look on her face. She looked up at you then sighed. "Yn, I hate to tell you this but I got a promoted job in New York and we have to leave this weekend."
Your worried expression became a sad expression. "You're joking, right?" Your mother shook her head no. You shook your head in disbelief.
"No..." You took a step back as your mama hopped off of the counter.
"Yn..are you fine?"
"No I'm not fine. We leave this weekend! I had plans with Nique but I guess I have to cancel them."
"I don't know who you talking to like that! You better tone it down before I hurt you." You breathed out then ran upstairs with more tears streaming down your face.
"I HATE MY LIFE!" You said screaming at the top of your lungs. "Yn!" "Mama, I really don't want to be bothered right now!" You yelled back as you dialed Zonnique's number.
"Hey, girl. How you doing?"
"Awful. You know that my mama got a job promotion in New York?" It was complete silence on the other end of the line. "Zo? Are you there?"
You heard Zonnique sniff then she sighed. "Yn...when are you leaving?"
"I'm leaving this weekend, Nique." "But we had plans to see our friends & Bahja and Breaunna."
"I know but I guess you'll have to go see them without me. Imma really miss you."
"I'm going to miss you, too."
2017....
You are now 20 & very happy because you finally get to visit you old hometown. (After you left to go to college, your mother somehow moved back into the house that you guys moved our of.)
"Yes, mama I'm on my way now. I'm down the street. A surprise?"
"Love you, too."
Your mama was so excited that she wouldn't give you more than 5 seconds to reply to what she was saying. You finally made it to the house you were raised in. It just had a few touches to it.
It was obvious that your mother had the house rebuilt due to the fact that it was already 15 or 16 years old when y'all first moved in. "Yn! My baby! You made it! How is college?"
"Its good mama. Who's car is that?"
You pointed at the drop top car with pretty red seats.
Rain drop. 💧
Drop top. 🚗That song is honestly not all that but hey, its what majority of you guys listen to so, I ain't hating. Plus, I only like the beat. What y'all need to be jamming to is that new "More Life" about by Drake.
