I could hear the tumblers as I unlocked the front door. Walking in the house my sister Karma sat on the couch watching tv.

"Hey big head." I said pushing her head causing her to ruffle her curls so they wouldn't be a mess.

"Hey big sis."

I'm four years older than Karma me being almost twenty-one and her newly seventeen. My little baby would soon be a senior in high school. I can remember when she was going to be a freshman. She was so nervous asking me how it would be, were the students as bad as the movies portray. What classes she should take, what teachers to stay away from.

Now we're here - the summer before her senior year. Time flys so fast. Next she's going to ask what college to attend, what classes are best for her major, questions on older guys and love. It's hard to believe that my baby sister is no longer a baby.

She's becoming a woman...

"Le'Ana can you fill out this job application for me, I don't know how."

Well I did say becoming...

"Where is mom, why didn't you ask her?"

Walking around the couch I sat down giving myself space to lay my legs across one of the cushions. Sitting my bag on the glass table in front of the couch I grabbed the application from Karma's fingers. Inspecting it I awaited for her to tell me of our mothers whereabouts.

"She left earlier to Cousin Tallinn house, they supposed to be barbecuing or something." Karma spoke careless of the topic.

"See on the job history part." She continued as she now hovered over me pointing to the piece of paper, "What I put there if I never had a work."

"To be so smart you have a terrible grip on grammar." I laughed at her causing her lips to smack.

"Seriously Le'Ana." She pouted with her voice going into an amusing whine.

"Okay I'll help you under two conditions."

"An-na." She groaned pronouncing my name in two syllables.

"Oh hush, the first one is very simple. Learn to talk. Stupid." I mushed her head.

"Okay, okay and the second condition?"

"I need to borrow some money."

I watched as her eyes became smaller as she squinted them. "How much?"

"Okay keep in mind I'm paying you back."

"How much?"

"And that I love you."
